I’ll start this off by saying I’ve played almost all the public courses in Westchester as well as a couple of the private ones. This year was the first time coming here and before even teeing off things turned south.

My buddies got there before me and were waiting by the tee box. I check in and they text me to just come to the tee. I’m walking over and the starter literally screams at me to stop. Asks me where I’m going and I say my tee time is next and I’m going to the box. He proceeds to lay into me that I need to address him first and that singles have no standing on the course. This is about 30 seconds of him huffing before I try to calmly say I’m with the group already waiting. His face looks like he wants to fight me on the spot, but he simply says, ā€œfine, goā€. No apology, nothing. One of my friends sees this and afterwards asks me what happened. I explain and they say that’s weird because the starter didn’t give them any attitude. My friends tee off and I walk up to the tee which is right in front of the starter’s box and he’s just eyeing me down the entire time.

The course itself was in great shape, but the pace was extremely slow. 5 hour round on a weekday afternoon tee. This was early in the season so iget there’s a rush of demand. The ranger came by to apologize and we asked him about the starter. He said he might just be having a bad day but it seemed like he knew the starter has had issues in the past.

Heading home we went by the starter again to drop off the carts and he stared me down again the entire time (A good minute). It was very uncomfortable and as a POC (surrounded by exactly 0 POC that day) I couldn’t help feeling uncomfortable. My group 100% noticed the glaring and pushed us to leave rather than going to the bar.

All in all nothing terrible happened and I don’t believe it was racially charged. However, the starter’s attitude from the start was incredibly unprofessional and borderline hostile. Feels more like a power trip but I certainly won’t be playing here again while they employ someone like that at a client...

I will start this review by saying the ranger and the starters at the course are very friendly good people. There is one young kid that works behind the counter in the pro shop who is nasty and condescending to customers. Ive seen 2 separate occasions now where he talks down to customers and can’t handle his simple job. The course overbooks and just sends anybody out at any time which causes a horrendous pace of play. They don’t condense groups of 1 or 2 together it’s just a free for all at the 1st tee which causes unplayable pace. I went in to ask for a rain check after only playing 5 holes because of the unplayable pace. I was told no, ok fine. This kid spoke to me like I was scum and not a paying customer. The kid behind the counter needs to be put somewhere else where he isn’t dealing with customers because he can’t handle it. He speaks to you like you’re bothering him or he’s doing you a favor. After the first incident a few weeks ago I gave him the benefit of the doubt think ah, maybe he’s having a bad day. Now on a completely different day he was even worse. Save your money go play somewhere else where your business is...

My buddy and I played here this past Monday with a pre-booked tee time of 1:30, figuring 4.5 hours should be plenty of time to get all or most of a round in. Well, we weren't able to tee off until 2pm. We paid for a cart without being told it was Cart Path Only, that was a nice surprise on the 1st hole. Had we known earlier, we surely would have walked. This is not a good cart part only course. The Rangers were riding around, but clearly not trying to keep the pace of play at a reasonable rate. We played the front 9 in around 3 hours, and then were able to shuffle in a few holes on the back 9 before being forced off the course by the Ranger. We play least once a week at other courses and this was easily the worst golf experience we have had in the past few years. It was a complete waste of money and time, and not being able to at least attempt to complete our round was reason enough to never give this place...
