I took my 9 year old granddaughter here on Saturday night, after the Vineland parade that we participated in, because she told me that her heart was hurting and she couldn't breathe! After getting thru all of the shut down roads I got her to the ER, [at this point my Granddaughter is short breathing, repeating saying her heart and now head hurts and that she can't breathe], (and I chose to take her instead of calling 911 because the parade was still not completely finished and most of the Emergency services were at the parade) When I got to the ER, you had to walk thru an outside detector for weapons before you entered the building. Once you got in the building, there were 2 security guards sitting in the outside lobby, 1 in front of the desk, and 1 sitting at the desk! The guard in front of the desk asked me if I had any weapons or anything sharp in my purse, I said no and let him check my purse! The Guard proceeds to take my wallet out and move other things around. Mind you, I don't have a large purse, so once he took my walker out, you could see the bottom of my purse. I said Sir, my granddaughter's heart is hurting, and she can't breathe. Can you please hurry. My Granddaughter is standing there crying and still short breathing, but he continues to dig in my purse, again he was already at the bottom of my purse and there was no where else in there to look! When he finished, we went inside to the lobby reception desk to complete the form, and I heard the 2nd Guard behind the desk say very sarcastically, "Thank you!" As I walk in and then the 1st Guard says, " Yeah! But they don't understand!" I turn to both of them and say, I do understand, what are you talking about, Guard #1, says let me do my job, I said, Sir, I didn't stop you from checking my purse, but you were taking a long time and I was telling you that my Granddaughters heart was hurting and she couldn't breathe! I complete the form, and then I'm told to get a visitor's pass! I ask for what? They said because my granddaughter is the patient, I say again, please, my granddaughter is saying her heart hurts and she can't breathe, I got ignored and was told to get a pass! I got the pass, and I told that Guard the same thing! And again, while all of this is going on, my granddaughter is crying and short breathing! After I get the pass, they give her a bracelet and says go sit in the waiting room! At this point, I stop! And said it yet again, my granddaughter said her heart hurts and she can't breathe! The lady told me we had to wait! I said, I just want to be clear that you are sending a child that is saying her heart hurts and that she can't breathe and is short breathing to the waiting room? The lady and a man that was on the phone both said she had to wait for pediatric! We go take a seat and 15 minutes later she is called for them to check her vitals! My Granddaughter had an Asthma attack and was close to being admitted! I took the time to write this review because Inspira you have to do better! From you rude guards to your insensitive staff! You have to do better! I fully understand that you desk with all types of people 24 hours a day, but when you get real emergencies, you have to not be so desensitized that you miss it! What would it have taken to assess her to see if she really wasn't in a medical crisis situation? All situations don't call for immediate or quicker responses but some situations just do! How you treat people is important and how you treat people in crisis situations is even more important! Safety is a must and to your guards, Mr. I'm just trying to do my job! If he was trying to do his job, let him know if he is checking for, "Sharp Objects" first, He should have gloves on, then he should use some type of instrument to move things around in the bag, because of I had anything sharp, while he was digging, and pushing things around he would have been poked, cut or...
Read moreI don’t like to trash companies or medical professionals because I believe that they are necessary to our society, However, Inspira of Vineland has earned every thing I’m about to say because it’s the truth. I first want to say that our community NEEDS GOOD DOCTORS! Nobody needs bad doctors. WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU WANT TO LIVE. I’ve had multiple family members go to this hospital’s ER who were then kicked out after given the wrong diagnosis only to later end up in an ICU at other hospitals with competent doctors and medical professionals. The latest family member failed by this institution has left me very angry! My aunt had a brain bleed after falling and hitting her head. She went to Inspira of Vineland Er and they diagnosed her with a mild contusion then Told her to follow up with her pcp. A couple days later she was having stroke like symptoms, because she was having a stroke due to the bleeding in her brain from the fall. She went to the ER again because her muscles on the right side of her body clamped up and she couldn’t move. She lost her ability to speak every thing she tried to say came out as gibberish. Soon after being admitted to the ER she fell into a comatose state. The doctor at inspira diagnosed her with an overdose and treated her with narcan even though her symptoms were stroke like and she had just been there a few days prior for a head injury. Because my aunt came out of her comatose state after receiving Narcan. The doctor then canceled the MRI test that would 100% confirm a stroke diagnosis, because god forbid this doctor be thorough. My aunt went days with an active brain bleed and didn’t get any treatment for the stroke until she was transferred to Cooper hospital. The damage to her her brain is so bad now that my aunt is bed ridden and will never be able to walk again, she may regain some of her speech but communication is very difficult for her and her quality of life has been severely negatively impacted. I cant even tell you how this is impacted her mental health becoming a prisoner in her own body. I know it didn’t have to be this way. The brain damage did not have to be this bad if she had the correct diagnosis and treatment early on. The wrong diagnosis and improper treatment from this institution is unacceptable and it’s about time they suffer the consequences. If anyone has had an experience like this make your complaints to the NJ Department of Health and Human Services of the incident happened within a year. If you have been wrongfully diagnosed and the incident happened over a year ago report it to the Joint Commission. This hospital takes state grant money, which is taxpayer funded and taxpayers deserve better treatment than this hospital has provided. Human beings deserve better than the treatment I’ve seen come from this hospital. They are a disgrace and some of those doctors need to have their medical license taken away because they have no business practicing medicine. Everyone has to demand better. There should be consequences for the negligence I’ve witnessed. If you have a medical emergency drive the half hour to Virtua at least you will get better after receiving proper treatment and able to walk out of the hospital on your...
Read moreI just recently moved to New Jersey, from Philadelphia. One of the most rudest nurses and most horrible hospital/emergency rooms I have ever been to! Its here in Vineland, NJ. Entered the emergency room with a pregnant women who was bleeding out excessively and waited in the waiting room from 6:30pm and did not get attended to until 1:30am. When the nurses would call out last names they were mutiple people with the same last name. Example they would call out the last name HUNTER and When any person would ask the nurse are you calling on me my last name is Hunter. The nurse will lash out with an attitude and say are you Hunter and the person would say yes but there is three other people here with the last name Hunter. The nurse would lash out and say don’t tell me how to do my job. And then eventually call out both first and last name to correctly get the correct person in the room next. Eventually after 7 hours of waiting, my lady was called into the room and was checked by the nurse for a quick 5 minutes , we proceeded to wait another 2 hours for the doctor to come into our room. When the doctor finally came she was limited to what she could do because she stated we needed to see an OBGYN nurse/doctor to confirm any further problems my lady could have. So we basically spent 7 hours waiting for a 30 minute check to be told to go see our regular OBGYN doctor the next day. After being checked the doctor said she would be back in 30mins or so with the nurse to give us release papers and paperwork for medications prescribed. That also took another two hours to do so, we were feed up and decided to leave cause we were both exhausted and tired. Before we left we stated to the nurses what was taking so long and immediately was giving the paperwork and was checked out. The whole time it seemed like the staff did not care about a single thing and was busy chatting and laughing having fun as if they had free time. NO NEED TO RESPOND BACK TO THIS! AS WE WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN! I am writing this to let give everyone else awareness of this horrible/rude staff! Stay away! Travel 40mins more on route 55 and go to Philadelphia Hospital!! Which supposedly is such a bad city but guess what the hospital does not treat you like crap and the staff are nice and actually...
