TERRIBLE! SCAM!! So here I am, a few years later after my visit. My first was with my husband who is active duty marine. We really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was knowledgeable. We stopped by the gift shop and my husband saw a, what he thought was a print of a painting at the time as it was advertised as such, and priced as such. It was $70. We left, but I went back later that week on my own to buy it for him. He really liked it and we have taken it with us from duty station to duty station. Today I went to take it out of the current backing to place in a new frame, and found that this is literally a page from a cheap calendar purposely taped and basically superglued to make sure it was impossible to get out. I am extremely disappointed as we genuinely enjoyed our time there, but us being a young couple in the military, not making a whole lot of money in the first place, splurging a bit extra on something we thought was real. I just feel like I have been taken advantage of for money when the museum tries to portray themselves like they don't worry about money, that the owner simply loves aircraft and wants to share his love with whoever comes. I know we are not the only ones who have purchased something from there and the fact that it is a military area... you are a joke. Worst thing is that the back had a weird (4) at the end of the description. When taken out, the calendar page has a 4 written on it in the bottom...
Read moreWhat a gem this is. I wouldn't recommend small children. They are very strict about not touching the planes. If by accident you touch them and you break something on one, it cannot be replaced. They are one of a kind. They won't be able to fly it because of safety reasons if something is damaged. Almost every plane is flown. They are constantly doing upkeep on them. If you like history, it's worth going to see. WW1 and WW2 planes and most of them look brand new. They have plenty of retired military pilots that give you a free tour and answered every question we threw at them. Outstanding pilots and an incredible amount of knowledge. Very intimate with not a lot of people the day...
Read moreThe Fighter Factory is its own entity of Military Aviation Museum. All those beautiful planes you see in the collection? Yeah, these guys fix them up and keep them running in top condition. At any given time the aircraft in the Fighter Factory hangar can change depending on what's being serviced so it's always different every time you come in. Guided tours are the way to see this fascinating subset of the museum, and they're well worth it. Don't mind the gruff technicians, it's not easy keeping 60+ year old airplanes in near...
