As someone who never lifted weights until his 30s, I needed more in-person input than simply watching YouTube clips, reading a Mark Rippetoe book, or even online coaching. Especially given I wanted to focus on compound exercises using a barbell (squat, deadlift, press, etc.). The mechanisms of these exercises look simple, but that doesn't mean they are easy. And outcomes of improper forms or mistakes can be more critical when you are no longer in your 10s and 20s.
That's how I came upon Drew at Porrada Barbell. While researching barbell courses and personal trainers in the Virginia Beach area, I found Porrada Barbell to be the best choice for what I was looking for.
