This was my second time visiting Martinsville Speedway, and while the experience was similar to my first, it's still by far one of my favorite tracks to visit. The atmosphere, the history, and the short-track racing vibe make it a truly unique and special place for any NASCAR fan. Martinsville's rich history shines through in every corner of the track, and the racing itself is second to none. The close-quarters racing, the bumping and grinding, and the noise of the engines—it's an experience you just can't replicate anywhere else (except Bristol). That said, there are a few things that could definitely use improvement. The facilities are on the slimmer side, and restroom lines can get incredibly long. It's definitely something to plan for if you're attending for the first time. We also encountered a bit of a letdown when they sold out of hot dogs behind Blue Ridge Tower H early in the day. Parking is another challenge, but let's be real—what major event doesn't have its share of parking woes? The biggest frustration, however, is the pit experience. Unlike most other tracks, where you can access the grandstands directly from the pit area, Martinsville requires you to go through security twice to get to your seats. This means you miss out on key pre-race moments like the flyover, national anthem, and "driver start your engines" as you're stuck waiting in another long security line. It feels redundant and could definitely be improved for a smoother experience. Despite these critical issues, there's just something about Martinsville that keeps me coming back. The racing is always top-notch (with the exception of the race manipulation this year), and the energy of the crowd is infectious. It's an iconic track that every NASCAR fan should experience...

I’ve been to this track for a NASCAR event twice, the first time in 2016 and got to see JJ on his 2nd to last NASCAR win, made the mistake of getting seats too low, but still has a good time for the money, this time around for the XFINITY 500 I got tickets 2/3 up in turn one and had a blast.
I did the pre race experience which was a neat novelty and got some free swag, but I wouldn’t recommend as it put us waiting in line for the famous Martinsville hotdog for the first 130 laps. And yes that wait was worth it, they sell these hotdogs by the bag, they are about $2 each, and are absolutely delicious.
Once in my seat, it couldn’t have been a better experience. I was also there the night before for the Xfinity hard on tools 250 as well as cup qualifying, and it was great as well.
The midway had a free Ferris wheel to ride, and was quite fun, as well as ask the merchandise and sponsor trailers, they had a tribute band doing very well known songs, and had an iracing simulator hauler and competition I didn’t get the chance to try out.
I recommend bringing a scanner intercom system or renting one from racing electronics, as this is a loud track and can be hard to follow once the leaders start lapping cars, but it is a true gem of track.
The only con I can even think of was that parking and getting out can be a mess, but the parking I found was free and not far away, but definitely recommend something off road capable just in case...
Read moreBest NASCAR short track on earth! Our family has been to many NASCAR stock car races here over the years and it never disappoints. Great food vendors! They also have a family section for those bringing children, and who wish to sit in a location where there is no one consuming alcoholic beverages.
Updated: October 31, 2021 for the Nascar #Xfinity500 #xfinityrewards VIP Experience
I was blessed to win (Praise God!) two VIP passes through #xfinityrewards to attend the #Xfinity500 on Sunday, October 31, 2021. We were treated like royalty, and were guests of Xfinity in Suite 12 (in the tower on the front stretch). We had VIP passes which gave us access to go infield before, during, and after the race. All our food and drink was catered as part of the Suite access. It was truly the best seat in the house. We had our own restroom just for our suite, and we were able to enjoy the race in an climate controlled, comfortable environment. Xfinity truly caters to its customers. They also donate a substantial financial amount to non-profits which help connect students in rural areas to high speed internet access. If you have never experienced Nascar short track racing, then you must attend a Nascar race at...
