Get what you pay for... Lay out of the course is fun, not very challenging. What does make it challenging are the conditions. Tee greens were doable, fairways are mostly dead grass and hard compact dirt, you have to pick the ball clean every single shot, but I did enjoy some 300+ total yard rollouts with driver because of itđ. Forget about using fairway woods unless your an elite ball strikerđŹ. Greens were rock hard, but had grass. Looked as if they are working on them. You can tell they were freshly seeded recently. Hitting a good approach shot on the green will be awarded with it rolling right off of itđ because nothing is going to grab on to it! No cart paths so you can drive anywhere in any weather which in my opinion is a reason why the course is so compacted. Like I said though, it's a fun course especially for golfers looking to have a day with the boys, and for golfers who don't really care about certain conditions. Ive played here many times, because I do like the layout. I enjoy playing alone most the time to practice, and it's therapeutic for me. It's not crowded so there's no rush. I love that about...
Read moreI really wish I could have enjoyed my experience here, but I couldn't get past all the cigarette butts and trash everywhere. I could hardly even see the greens, there were so many cigars and cigarette butts on them. Heaping mounds and mountains of them. I was on hole 8 and this weird looking fellow jumped over the fence line from the ranch next door. He wreaked of cigarettes. I'm about to hit a perfect pitch right into the hole from 45 yards out with my 60 degree wedge and this fellow runs out on the green. He turns and stares at me for what seemed eternity, even though it was probably only 1 min 36 seconds. Then he gives me this half smile and flicks a cigarette butt into the hole. I let out a slight laugh, but it felt more like one of those forced laughs because it was troubling. The guy then ran across the road and into the woods, as I sat there perplexed by what just occurred. I will never come back here again. I've had to bathe with GOJO for 2 weeks now and I still wreak...
Read morePlayed there 7-12. Had read previous reviews and also took into account there is a substantial drought in progress and water restrictions. Nice little course. Short 10-15 minute drive from Waco. Greens weâre in decent shape, fairways are dry but expected with the current conditions. Good carts, challenging hilly course with a few semi blind shots, and All in all it was a good change from most city courses. Pace was good, locals let me play through nicely, very friendly. I was in no hurry but they were not either. I would say that the references to being a âcow pastureâ were way off. Staff on the course were professional and friendly and one fellow helped me get on track after I hit to the wrong direction. Was worth the drive and the Sr rate for a 7:30am T off. Would love to try again after they get a lot...
