I signed up for 5 months Sampoorna Ramayana Warli Art Class through DailyDesignist platform back on 12/7/20. I told the owner that due to the nature of my husband’s work I am mostly a single parent over the weekends and I am not sure if I will be able to attend these classes. She reassured me that, that will not be an issue as all the classes are recorded and any classes missed I will get a recording of it. Couple of weeks into the class we needed to draw multiple different compartments. There was no proper instruction from the teacher and at one point it was clear that she was confused herself. I am honestly a beginner and I have no art background at all. So, I reached out to Chhavi Singh from DailyDesignist as I didn’t know what to do. She spoke to teacher Geethaji and said that she will get the issue resolved. Geethaji provided a picture of how the board should be split with the measurements on the side. Chhavi did reach out a couple of days later to ask if the issue was resolved and I did respond back that all was fine. There were still minor issues in the class, but still I went along with it. On 03/13/21 I reached out to Geethaji that being a non-practicing MD and volunteer for State of North Carolina, I will not be able to attend Sunday’s class and maybe into the next month as I have to go to Covid-19 Clinics. So, if she can provide the recordings I would really appreciate it. She said “Sure, send me a picture of your board so far”, As I was travelling I did not have the board on me, I told this to her. I waited 2 days for her to respond, but she didn’t and she would respond to ppl in WA group. So, I messaged in the WA group asking for the recording, again she asked for my board pic. This really upset me so, I replied “oh so I didn’t know these were the rules to the class when I signed up and paid $300”. She asked me to delete the message from the group, when I didn't she wrote a long message where she said I am going through personal issues but this is not the place for it, and removed me from the WA group. When another student said this is harsh on her part again she said that I have personal issues with husband, job and kids. Is this ethically correct to talk to about someone’s personal life like this? After this I reached out to Chhavi from DailyDesignist and she again told me that I will get all the recordings and pictures teacher Geethaji shares in the WA group. Which I didn’t, I waited a couple of days to get them from her, and nothing, she wouldn’t even reply to my messages. Which brought me to file a complaint against DailyDesignist on BBB. Where she took no responsibility and said that DailyDesignist is just a platform and they have nothing do with what the teacher does. This was NOT said to me when I registered for the class. I explained in BBB that I paid $360 to DailyDesignist, not to Geethaji. When a teacher doesn’t follow through, I would be reaching out to you. The only thing Chhavi can offer is a refund of $45 since there are only 2 more classes left and she removed Geethaji from DailyDesignist platform. I would assume that Chhavi saw some truth in my argument and that’s why she took this huge step and removed Geethaji from her platform. She also threw DailyDesignists policy at me that after 2nd class they do not provide refunds. So then, what happened to the conversation we had right before I registered for the class, that I will get ALL the recording and materials, “if by chance” I miss the classes. OR did you say all this JUST to get me to register? I do not want the refund, I want what I was promised when I registered for the class; to get ALL the class material. I went to DailyDesignists to support other women in their business, but this is not the service I signed up for. Please do not be fooled when it says “it is to empower underprivileged women” or “this is small business run by women” PLEASE NOTE: Till date DailyDesignist has not called me to try to come to a resolution. Do either of you think my missing classes because I am a volunteer for the state NOT A VALID reason?

Enrolled my 9 year old daughter for the Madhbani course at Daily Designist for a couple of months. Kiddo absolutely loves and enjoys it, Ms Shilpa (the teacher) is very patient and a warm person to interact with. She adjusts the pace depending on the need and provides clear instructions that are easy to follow. Chhavi (Owner of DD) is very prompt in replying to messages or resolving and issues. Overall, the experience has been quite positive and this forum is highly recommended!

I had taken time off from work to recover from a physical ailment. As I was exploring opportunities to keep my mind engaged, I came across the DailyDesignist website. Having grown up in India, I always admired the historic and present day artists for their talent and creativity. I am not a natural artist and so wanted to start with something simple. I reached out to Chhavi . Chhavi was so prompt and patient with all my questions and I finally signed up for the Warli class. My visiting mother-in-law also signed up. I was extremely impressed with the professional aspects. Chhavi sent out calendar invites for the sessions and also communicated the items required to be prepared for the class. Our teacher Toshavi started by providing us with the historical significance of Warli art and then made us feel comfortable with the very basic shapes. She was very thorough and engaging. It was really fun and therapeutic to learn to sketch the figures in the first class. We then proceeded to complete two themes by the end of 4 sessions: one was related to dance forms and the other was holi celebration. Toshavi is a very skilled artist and yet she was able to come down to our "very beginner" level and encouraged us to be creative and confident! She was always few mins early and did not end the class till we had completed the allocated work. I now plan on adding the final touches to the artwork, so it can be framed. This class has given me a sense of accomplishment and also allowed me to look at art through a new lens. I'm so grateful for Chhavi for being so passionate about the platform and bringing such historical art practises and lessons virtually. I'm also grateful to Toshavi for sharing her knowledge with novices-I'm eager to return for more after I have mastered the art of sketching with a...

I would have never discovered the rich indian folk art - "Madhubani" if it weren't for the DailyDesignist platform. They are bringing indian artists together with different expertise, connecting the art gurus with anyone who wants to learn art virtually, connect with themselves and discover a purpose other than their daily routines and create beautiful art projects. You instantly create a personal connection with the artist and learn art techniques that would otherwise be almost impossible to learn in the U.S. I thoroughly enjoyed my first madhubani class and this has given me an opportunity to get back on the road of...
