A really nice restaurant with a strong German identity but its own distinct flavor. Collocated with the restaurant is an import food store full of Europe foodstuffs, with an emphasis on German products (secondary emphasis send to be the UK). Almost everything in the store is difficult to find in the US, be it cold sodas, jam, cookies, salt, candy, even soap. Morse's sells wine and has a curated focus on good beer, also with an emphasis on German. In addition to all that the store has a deli with luncheon meats, sausage, and the best cheese selection in the area. The options change constantly but I've found cheeses at Morse's I couldn't find in Germany or Switzerland, such as hand-rubbed, or ancient Gouda. The deli is also where one finds Morse's own products such as the iconic sauerkraut. It's a part of every celebration out holiday in my family and I could not recommend...

Morse’s Sauerkraut is located in the middle of farm country in Waldoboro, in an unassuming roadside building, but the moment you walk in, you have entered a gourmet import store and restaurant. Morse’s has been making their own sauerkraut and pickles for more than 100 years, and I’m not sure how long the shop has been open. They have a large and interesting variety of cheese, and they are enthusiastic about answering questions and providing samples. I always learn something when I stop in. In the sausage/deli cooler, they have German, Hungarian and Pork sausages, as well as imported hams, smoked pork, and other charcuterie.

The rest of the shop is devoted to imported products and ingredients, mostly German, and a huge selection of chocolates. We always stop by for our holiday candy for...

I love coming here either to dine at the Kraut House restaurant or shop in the deli. The restaurant has interesting specials and a nice menu selection. It is a great place for a late breakfast or lunch or even an early dinner as their hours are 10:30 to 4:00. But they do take a day off on Wednesdays.

I had brought my friend from France here for breakfast and shopping and she was thrilled. In the deli she immediately felt that she had been transported back home surrounded by the brands of goods she knows so well.

The family that owns and cares for the business are very friendly and knowledgeable, they became friends in no time at all. Allow yourself some patience as it is a small and busy place, it is...

Went here on a beautiful fall day. The drive into this remote restaurant was stunning. The German restaurant and store is kinda awesome. Lots of product that you don't normally see. Various pickle samples. We ended up choosing the half sours. So good. The restaurant was fun too. Small room only five tables so we had to wait but it was worth it. Had the bratwurst with Sauerkraut and a reuben both were great. Fun outing.

Such a cute unique place!!! Hidden in the country side, it is an absolute gem if you want international goods that make great gifts or for your own cooking. I was blown away by all that they had and will definitely be going back. Oh and the sauerkraut was good too ha! The ready made sandwich was AMAZING. Fresh product and unique too. Well worth the trip in the country side.
