Hazard's Distillery — Local services in Walker Township

Several members of our family, including my wife and I, became very fond of a salted caramel whiskey produced by one of the major manufacturers. The problem; it's a seasonally produced item and is only available in Autumn. The solution; find a deliciously flavored salted caramel whiskey that is available year-round. Hazard's produces that deliciously flavored salted caramel whiskey we were looking for.

This passed Saturday, my wife and I set out on a little road trip (about 160 miles roundtrip) to explore Hazard's Distillery and we were not disappointed. We tasted several of the offerings, including the Apple Pie Moonshine, Lemonade Moonshine, Root Beer Moonshine, etc. I also tasted the 105 proof corn whiskey, which was smooth, has a distinct flavor and is a nice easy sipper.

We spoke with Bob, one of the owning partners, rather extensively about the history of the business and his background. Bob is very nice and easy to converse with regarding just about anything. He even gave us some suggestions about where to grab lunch when we asked about restaurants in the area. Bob took his time walking us through the samples and even explained the genesis of some of the flavors produced by the distillery. Omgness. Let me start off by saying we are not big drinkers. I drink wine on occasion my hubby likes beer occasionally. We were lucky to get tickets to KegsCorks&Kilts. I saw moonshine and was hesitant because I hear nightmares. Burny gross.... OMGNESS I have to say we enjoyed all of the flavors. Specially the Butterscotch. It was so smooth and extremely tasty. My hubby also really enjoyed it and he is a beer drinker not liquor. We couldn't help but walk out with a purchase. I hope to find them again because they are a good 2 hrs away from me!!!!! We love this place, we drive up once a year from Florida just to get our yearly supply, always get the Vanilla Coffee whiskey and plenty of moonshine, all flavors (except for Dill Pickle). This year picked up a bottle of Honey Whiskey, we are hoping for some blueberry moonshine in the future....
