Farmer Joe's Gardens — Local services in Wallingford

They have a great selection of mums than are about to burst with color so what you see in front when you pass by is this a small selection there is a whole area in back. Going to Farmer Joe's is always a great experience and fun going to a farm store. Prices are not usually less than the grocery store but knowing that you are buying local makes you feel good about spending the money. They also have a few big Goods in dairy products including chocolate milk ice cream eggs and various coffee cakes and honey and maple syrup too. If you're coming from out of town is easy on easy off of I-91. If your local is very easy on the corner of Route 58 and Leigus Road. There is plenty of parking and they do have curbside pickup. This was our first year. I’m a Doctor and worked during Pandemic. My husband works for Eversource and has a small business too. We are both essential workers and thought this gift was the answer to our prayers. We craved local produce. They gave our basket away DESPITE our communication with staff. They had Poor customer service and poor communication amongst one another. We are way too busy for their attitude with such “stringent” lack of concern when they do make an error. This was my first local produce experience so perhaps we shall just try a more staff-friendly stand next time around… what a disappointment 😰😢😔

Join their CSA this year. So far so good. They allow for customization of boxes, which is in theory. Really nice, but so far everything that I've wanted to swap for has been not available. And the stuff in the farm store is kind of expensive, and one of the workers was carrying around a baby chick, which is adorable and I thought was really cute when I was there, but then on my drive home I was like and she's got this live animal around all of this fresh produce and things that are meant to be consumed without cooking them again, I think maybe it's not...
