Zio JohnB’s NY Pizza “ Pizza Pop-up Event” — Local services in Walterhill

My wife and I were excited to try ZJBs pizza, we got a small Cheese and a large meat lovers, I have to say regardless of all the great reviews this has got to be the absolute worst pizza I've ever had.. the crust was good. But that's not what makes a pizza. The toppings didn't taste fresh or just weren't good. The cheese kept sliding off the pizza with everything bite, pulling the rest of the toppings with it, kept having to "reset" the pizza and eventually folded it like a sandwich to try and keep it together. Still didn't work. The same could be said with my daughter's cheese pizza, but with theirs, the cheese came off as soon as the piece was pulled.

I'm not sure if this is what "NY" style pizza is supposed to be, but at least I know what a typical pizza is supposed to be like and I've had better pizza from a gas station.

I had to make the drive out to Walter Hill but I am so glad I did!! We got a small gladiator, Caesar salad,garlic knots & a small white pie AND chocolate covered cannolis! If I was making the drive I was trying it all 😂 This place did not disappoint! One slice of the gladiator will make you feel stuffed! The white pie was amazing & I love having the sauce cup so I can dunk. The salad was enough to feed 2-3 people easily. The cheese on it was fresh sliced. The cannolis were just perfection! We couldn’t even eat them until the next day & we had 4 people eating what I ordered. When you get there, call to let them know you arrived & they will bring it right out. Me and my family have had pizza all over the Nashville area, including the surrounding counties. This is now one of our top favorites! It was a little bit of a drive and out in the country, but totally worth it when we got home and cracked open the box of goodness! The New York style Pizza was crispy with a delicious sauce and pepperonis! The garlic knots were a little too much garlic on top, but easily knocked off some to my taste. Dipping sauce for that is awesome! Love it love it love it! Hope to see them eventually offer restaurant seating vs carry out only. Worth the drive to and from to enjoy with my family. Look forward to trying...
