Brake Away Trailers & Auto Care — Local services in Wanda

I ordered a Legend "Contractor Flat Top" enclosed trailer from them. Customized it from the ground up to the tune of $28,600. Owner was easy enough to deal with and the process wasn't too difficult.

However, after 11 months I had an issue with the trailer. The aluminum skin was warping and cracking, and a frame weld came apart. Contacted Brake-Away and they forwarded my complaint to manufacturer, Legend. Legend said that my trailer, which both themselves and the dealer advertised as a contractor model WITH a lifetime warranty, had absolutely no warranty whatsoever due to simply being registered to a business. I have emails from both Legend and the dealer saying this. Dealer not only failed to inform me of this, both when I ordered the trailer and month later when I took possession of it, but did not stand up for their customer whatsoever.

At no point did they offer to help out with the repair, try to argue with the manufacturer, or even offer to look at it. Neither entity even wanted to look at the trailer, weigh it, or anything. I could've literally never used it, had an issue with the aluminum due to thermal expansion, and yet nobody wants to even make an attempt to pretend to honor what they sold me. Just because it was in the name of a business! That's what Legend themselves responded with!

At the time I was having a second brand new trailer priced out here, it was around $32,000. However, I will not do business here again, and I advise any customers to read the fine print as this dealership either does not know, or does not inform you, of very important information regarding the warranty and longevity of your purchase.

Really nice folks. Owner is knowledgeable and fair. Quite a mark up on shop rags, shop tools, shop air, shop walking steps, shop electricity...prepare for added fees of 80%... anyways, that short Korean guy named Josh...who does tires, is an idiot. He doesnt even sand the interior rim lip when mounting tires, causing an immediate bead leak. If they placed that Korean gentleman in a role to open and close the garage doors ONLY, I would go back.

I went to school with Josh at mountain Lake, and even though he is special education, and I admire the owner (Jesse) for hiring mentally challenged folks...I believe he should atleast double check before sending it out.

Bought a new maxxd trailer here and they people were great to deal with, however 3 weeks later I had paint bubbling and rust coming through the paint in places, after I talked to them they said to call the factory who would never answer the phone or return a call. Break away trailers took over and seemed to actually wanted to help but after several months I received 3 rattle cans of black pain! This was a slap in the face, do they expect me to just spray some paint over this rust, I buy a new trailer every 3 years but I will not be buying another maxx d after this poor customer service. The factory clearly painted a rusty piece of steel and clearly do not care about the people who are paying for their product,...
