I had a rather strange encounter today at check out. Thank goodness my friend was there, because I needed a witness to make sure I was not imagining the rudeness.
Upon checkout, I placed some small glass candles at the register. I asked the cashier if she had anything to wrap them in. She became upset at my question. And said, "No, but you can wrap it yourself. I'm not gonna do it for you. I don't know you." I was a bit shocked at her response and had my girlfriend grab some sales papers from the buggies. I started wrapping my own candles. And she continued talking although I felt awkward & went silent. She continued saying things such as "if you want something done right, do it yourself. I don't know you. I've never met you"... and "I cant read your mind, im not a mind reader" ...and these oddly rude comments continued to flow from her mouth for the duration of my checkout.
I looked for a name tag but she wasn't wearing one. My receipt said the cashier helping me today was ALORA.
It was hard to keep my mouth shut but I was also in shock that this young woman just kept saying weird comments even after I quit talking. Once I paid, she turned her customer service voice on and told me to have a blessed day. As if....
Alora or whoever needs to be stocking in the back and not interacting with customers. Ollie's kick rocks. I'll go to Big Lots where people are...
Read moreOllie’s is a good bet for cheap stuff when browsing. Their merchandise is highly varied and you’ll notice items may run out but aren’t immediately restocked. For example, I’ve been disappointed of late, unable to find any brand of dry shampoo at my local store. I have purchased dry shampoo before. I believe the chain buys close outs and “seconds”. I return about 10% of merchandise after trying it out at home and this finding the housing to be cheap, cracked, or maybe not even working. I won’t buy batteries from Ollie’s anymore. They tend to have good deals on the paint and primer all-in-one gallon cans though- literally half the price found at hardware stores. I will continue to shop at Ollie’s - but not in search of specific items, just when I receive their coupons for 10% off the entire purchase. You must sign up and become a member to receive special promotions and gift cards in your snail mailboxes. Ollies is, all in all, a decent value when you use common sense, and maybe in-depth...
Read more-The store is jammed packed with a variety of items to purchase from books to bedding, to rugs, to luggage to patio furniture and so on; ALL in abundance! -The store is super clean and one can spend hours in it -The prices for most items, in MY opinion are unmatched; I found sheet sets in here cheaper than anywhere else I have looked in the past week and they have the cutest print on them versus getting just solid color sets -They sell bath, face, hand & kitchen towels in MANY colors and styles and I absolutely LOVE them! Bought a set 2 years ago and still to this day the set has not unraveled even after all the weekly washes -This was only my 3rd visit and each time I found the customer service to be TOP NOTCH!!! *I without hesitation, recommend shopping here as if you do not find what you are seeking, you WILL end up purchasing...
