My mother was a resident of the Chelsea for over 2 years in the independent living apartments. She seemed happy and well cared for. The nursing staff was caring and the housekeeping staff kept my mother’s room clean. The dining room staff could be rude and impatient with the residents. My mother was moved to the third floor without a phone call to our family until after she was moved. Her belongings were not treated with care. We found the third floor to be lacking in understanding and available staff. Many residents were offered no socialization except for a blaring TV. The dining hall was dirty and the staff was very impatient. We were lucky to have my mother out of this dismal place in a week. She is thriving in her new residence. And the cost is signifcantly less than what the Chelsea was charging per day. Please do due diligence when looking for a place for an elderly person to live. We are so happy our dear Mother is in a more caring and nurturing environment. The new directors at the Chelsea should understand it is not only about making a profit with our...
Read moreMy family and I couldn’t be happier with our experience at Mira vie. From the moment we walked through the doors, we could feel the warmth, compassion, and professionalism of the entire staff. Everyone here goes above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable, respected, and cared for. The community is always clean, bright, and welcoming. The activities are fun and engaging — there’s always something to look forward to! The meals are delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the caregivers treat every resident like family. What really stands out is the genuine kindness and patience of the team. They take the time to get to know each person individually and ensure their needs are met with care and attention. Knowing my loved one is in such good hands brings our family tremendous peace of mind. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be safe, happy, and surrounded by caring people, I highly recommend Mira vie. It’s not just an assisted living community — it’s a true home...
Read moreMy Mother-in-law has been in the Memory Care Unit at Chelsea (Warren) for 9 months. Her needs are adequately taken care of and she is comfortable, for which we are thankful. The level of care ranges from very good to very mediocre, as we have found the staff/aides highly variable (mainly related to ability to communicate and individual experience). One issue of limited staffing is that the seniors often wait unsupervised for long periods to be allowed into their locked rooms to go to bed.
We were just informed (Dec 9, 2015) that there would be an increase for my mother-in-law's room rate from $243 to $265/DAY, an unbelievable 9.1% (the social security benefit increase for most seniors in 2016 is 0%). This seems unreasonable, as the quality of care has remained unchanged for the past six months. (It may be due to costs associated with the ongoing construction at the Chelsea). Nevertheless, this serves as a reminder to do due-diligence before selecting a home for...
