Our YMCA has always been very nice, but is exceptionally so since adding onto the building- thatās the only reason I gave ours 2 stars. The reason I only gave ours 2 stars is because of the trouble I have had financially with our YMCA. Weāve had a horrible time using our debit card for monthly payments. My payments keep getting rejected on the 1st try, even tho thereās plenty of $ in our bank account, then itāll be accepted the 2nd time itās ran. Because of this we keep getting an extra $30 Charge added monthly to our already high monthly membership fee. I couldnāt get Doug Saunders to look into this for me or find someone else maybe better qualified to look into it. It was all on me- it was my problem to deal with. I went to our bank and they assured me it was the payment processing company the YMCA uses- it was on their end š¤·š¼āāļø So should the YMCA be figuring this issue out??? Or should I just eat the extra $30/ month added to our monthly membership fee? Also during Covid I had a membership- the monthly payment was no longer showing up on my bank statements so I figured we no longer had a membership, especially with Covid going on. I stopped going because of it, I didnāt care if I went or not and it was saving us money by not going anyway. Unbeknownst to me the charges were still being accrued so I owed that accumulated amount of $ before restarting my membership. Doug wouldnāt help me w that either. I just had to pay it, and I did, wishing I had not! Iāve had so much trouble and far too much $ spent on YMCA fees, Iāll never go back!!! Itās supposed to be about health, wellness, family and Christianity but certainly seems like itās about money and money only!! Nobody should be wasting that kind of money, whether they have extra or not, which btw, our family does not. There, thatās my review. Keep close eye on bank/ CC statements if youāre already a member or thinking of becoming one at the Fayette...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give zero stars but oh well. The director, Doug Saunders, of this facility is not interested in your satisfaction, he's interested in your wallet and what's inside of it. I signed up for the mommy and me swim lessons. Our last class was cancelled due to weather conditions, there was no scheduled make-up class! As I am not a member, and never will be, I had to pay full price. He had no intention on offering a make-up! Instead, he offered to just sign me up for another class and give me a credit for one class. Finally I had to TELL him what the right thing would be to do, to let me and my baby attend the first class of the next course so she could get her certificate. He didn't seem happy that he wasn't going to get more money, but he reluctantly agreed. I have also heard other horror stories of his unprofessional attitude and will not even realease contact information for the Board. Hearing from a long time member, the childwatch isn't much better! When a child hurts another child, the whoever is in charge has no intention of correcting the child, instead they just brush it off and nothing is done! How can I send my child to their watch knowing my child won't be WATCHED?! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND WORK OUT...
