It takes a lot for me to leave a review, but this was an experience I will never forget and literally mortifying. The owner was horribly rude and has no customer service skill whatsoever from the very second we walked in. Read the other one star reviews. I booked for my daughters birthday party and owner was impatient and the most rude person Iâve ever encountered and I will never return. I misunderstood that a person who is supervising but not playing counts as a player. She yelled at me in front of 10 other girls and embarrassed us all. I was in tears and tried to tell this lady it was my fault for not understanding the policy, but she continued. I told her I felt like she didnât want us here with her approach and she said I was lying by telling the girls I didnât know I counted as a player, which truthfully I didnât. I didnât want that for my daughters birthday and would never do that to her. I will never return and Iâm sad something that was planned was wasted on her inability to communicate. It was so embarrassing and there is a reason people like this shouldnât be in business. Please read this business owners response to others complaints as well. No professionalism whatsoever and not worth your time. Drive to Layton.
COMMENT I LEFT AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE ON BBB COMPLAINT
If you assume I would allow sketchy people to be alone with 12 and 13 year old girls you are above and beyond wrong. The moment we walked in the door you were strongly aggressive in your rude and disrespectful approach. I simply said I did not know I counted as a player not that I didnât want to supervise the situation and you said I was lying. Although I appreciate you mentioning âstaffâ you were the only one present and as the OWNER OF THE ESTABLISHMENT YOU THINK CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD COME FIRST. I did nothing wrong by trying to find a solution to the situation because you were exempt in doing so and LETS BE CLEAR about the PHONE CALLS. THE FIRST only asked about the rooms and how to book and which rooms would work for 12 and 13 year olds. The second phone call I asked about switching rooms because I said I may have more girls coming but one wasnât sure if she would make it and I happily paid the difference for that. IF YOU RECALL I âAskedâ on that second phone call if you wanted us to book somewhere else because you were rude then and I should have taken the hint this was wrong from the get-go. YOU ALSO CONFUSED ME WITH ANOTHER PHONE CALL YOU HAD. Every single one of the girls that was there could NOT BELIEVE HOW YOU THE OWNER ACTED. How you treated all of us and there was âNO STAFFâ. Just YOU ALONE. SO WHO IS REALLY BEING DISHONEST HERE. THE GIRLS FELT UNCOMFORTABLE AS DID I. If you want every single one of those girls to leave a review on their experience on how you treated us and how awful you were we can have them do that. We have recordings as well as the girls were recording what they simply couldnât believe was happening. Most unreal uneducated situations I have ever been in. Yes you did yell and every single one of us wonât deny that. You did not educate as you think you did that the supervisor counted as one of the players or I would have booked two rooms. In fact I asked you there if I could book a second room and you said no, most likely because you were the only one there. I had zero reason to be dishonest and what purpose would that serve for my daughter so that I could ruin her birthday party. Your gross and donât deserve to be in business.
Please stop confusing me with someone else. I said over and over again I never asked not once if I could be on my phone. It wasnât even a thought on my mind and no you didnât say I counted. As I stated I would have booked two rooms. I only called two times. My husband called the third time to say he was appalled by your behavior and you hung up on him. Your behavior and how you treat your clients is up to you. As a business owner placing blame only directed at customers...
Read moreThis was a real unpleasant experience. Kathy who runs this place began with rules; over explaining not to break anything detailing that if it is secured down then itâs not to be moved. which is fine. She then began teaching hints and the way you are to get out of a specific room. It was as if she wanted to be in there and do everything for us. She continued this even after escorting us into the room itching to tell us how we should do it. Once our group of 7 began working the puzzle we seemed entertained in our discoveries. When requesting hints via the radio walkie talkie- her responses were condescending as if we were insulting her game. It became worse when we logically solved codes and she voluntarily got on the radio instructing us to drop a certain number in a code we solved. Right after that we took off removable doors to a cabinet in which she accusingly asked us if we broke it. We said no because it was âremovableâ. One of her clues was pictured differently than how it was actually supposed to go. When we learned this Kathy came in the room and said âtimes upâ. She attempted to explain one of the clues that not only didnât line up correctly in this new room but was angrily reluctant to allow us to show her the mistake. She did so by kicking us out telling us to leave. It was my whole family for a birthday. The youngest of us is 19 years old. My wife told her we needed our phones and belongings that she had locked up. She begrudgingly retrieved them for us prior to us walking out. We are still unaware as to why she didnât allow us our full time to finish. She continued with insulting remarks as my family and I walked out. Of course we let her know about herself and the way she operates is unprofessional. In which she responded by encouraging us to leave a review. In the end she was a royal B. As she lit her cigarette watching us walk to the parking lot she was sure to tell us not...
Read moreCLUE Inn Escape has some of the BEST escape rooms I've ever done! The owners are amazingly nice and the puzzles are truly top-notch.
There were only two of us, so we started with The Shed. Between us, we've done probably 40+ escape rooms and this one was still a great challenge! The puzzles were so much fun and a lot of the them were things that neither of us had ever seen before. We had an absolute blast and couldn't stop giggling the entire time.
We had so much fun that that we did another room right after -- The Peculiar Puzzling Parlour! This room has so many little easter eggs and details that make it extra fun (be sure to examine all the family portraits!)
Both of these rooms featured multiple pathways which I LOVED! Other escape room locations are "linear" where you need to go A -- B -- C -- D which can give a "too many cooks in the kitchen" feel. CLUE Inn Escape solves this by having multiple puzzles that can be done in parallel so that everyone can be working on something without things feeling too crowded.
Seriously, if you're in the Salt Lake area you NEED to visit this location! We can't wait to come back and try out the rest...
