DO NOT SHOP HERE. ZERO STARS!! I purchased a prom gown for my daughter on March 1 for a May 25 prom. I paid for the dress, and I was told that I would be contacted from the seamstress regarding the alternations needed. I was called by Maryann (seamstress) a couple of weeks later and made an appointment for March 29. At that time I paid in full for the alternations. I was told that I should get the dress back at least 2 weeks before the prom. When I did not hear from Maryann, I called her and she said that she had other gowns that had to be altered for an earlier prom and were more involved so she still hadn't worked on my daughter's gown. She said that it would not take long to do the alterations, she would finish over the weekend, and call me. When I did not hear from her by Monday morning, May 22, I called her and left 3 messages. She finally called me back and said I had to wait until May 24 (day before the prom) to go to the shop and have my daughter try on the dress. I was very upset because there was other stuff to do this week and since I paid in full on March 29, the dress should have been completed as promised (at least 2 weeks prior). I told her that I did not experience anything like this when I purchased my daughter's prom gown the year before. Maryann then told me that I should have went back to that shop if I wasn't happy. Really? That's how you talk to a paying customer. The manager, Frank, is a weasel! When we picked up the dress, I told him that I thought I should get my money back for the alternations since I didn't receive the dress when I was promised. He said he would call the owner and went in the back. When he came out, he said since you are getting the dress before prom, we will not give you your money back. What a way to treat a paying customer. I paid over $600 for the prom gown and another $145 in alterations well in advanced, and because the seamstress put other dresses before my daughter's, we had to wait until the very last minute to pick up the dress. Maryann is crazy! She initially came off as a sweet old lady but once I spoke up about getting the dress, she turned into a witch! Told me it was my problem! DO...

I am not one to write negative reviews, but this service was so deplorable I had no choice. I purchased a dress for my 14 year old daughter to wear to her graduation and dance. This was my fourth purchase from Cocos Chateau as I have three daughters and we purchased three very expensive prom dresses for my oldest from Cocos. The day before the 8th grade dance, she tried it on and the zipper would not close around the pleats. I took it to my tailor where it took two of us to close the zipper. He said this zipper was already damaged and the dress should never pull at the zipper. My 14 year old advised, "this is how the girls put it on me in the store". She is a size 0, the dress was a double 00. Since it was the day before the dance, my tailor tried to let it out, but only had a half inch to play with. He told me he thought the zipper would split, but thought it might hold for the night. When we were leaving for the dance, the dress split. My daughter had no dress to wear and wore a five year old dress we found in the back of a closet. When I contacted Cocos and told them about the situation, they admitted that it took two girls put the dress on her, but that is how they always do it. Parents are not allowed in the dressing room (apparently due to risk of damage to the dresses) and the teens are brought out into the general store area with the dress on. I was told that I should have inspected the zipper in the middle of the store. I was appalled that I was expected to undress my 14 year old daughter in front of multiple strangers by zipping her dress down to her panties in the middle of the store. I was told that it was my fault for not further inspecting the dress and unzipping it up and down, and that it was not the fault of their teenage salesgirls. Needless to say, I will never be shopping at this salon again. If you choose to shop there, be ready to partly undress your daughter in the middle of the store and you should be qualified on inspecting zippers...

If I could write negative stars I would. Managers, specifically the northern store manager/owner. Rude and unprofessional beyond belief. They took a deposit for a dress from a high school student, without a parent present, stating she needed a cash deposit to hold a dress but that she could put the money towards another dress if we didn’t like it when we went back with a parent. Due to hardship in the family they asked for the deposit to be out towards another dress at a later occasion (November wedding) since the student was no longer going to prom. The manager was beyond rude stating that we owned the dress and that the student signed a contract and was fully aware. That wasn’t the case. They accepted $250 cash and had her sign as receipt for the deposit, not stating it was a contract, and verbally told her she couldn’t get a refund but could apply to another dress if needed. So the store gets to keep the $500 dress and the $250 deposit and acted like we, the customer, had done something wrong. Life happens to everyone, everyone encounters difficulties but we all work hard for our money. Don’t give it away to Cocos ,go anywhere else, go to Jans Boutique, they’ll at least...
