Having used Erica before for both hypnotherapy and yoga I was excited to see her newest offering - the Gyrotonic Method. As an EDS sufferer with multiple injuries I've been looking for something that's more fun and exercise than physical therapy but less strenuous and injury prone than personal training. The Gyrotonic method is a lot like if yoga and Pilates had a baby, and that baby grew up to take a gap year in India and came back with a nose ring and strong opinions about opening your chakras. I'm still skeptical about WHY it works, but there's no question to me that IT WORKS.

What to expect: This is a hands-on, personalized, one-on-one private session where Erica will lead you through the movements assisted with the Gyrotonic equipment. The sessions are about an hour but the time honestly flies by - I have to be constantly engaged because I truly detest working out - I enjoy the endorphins and feeling like I did something good for my body but I get easily bored and stressed during the process if my mind isn't occupied. With the Gyrotonic method by the time you're getting bored with something you're onto the next movement.

The method builds, starting off with the basics and adding on new movements or modifications every session or so as you progress. Some movements may seem too easy at first but trust me they don't stay that way: everything in this method develops into a very comprehensive full body workout.

Thus far I have not managed to injure myself or overdo it. I walked out of there the first few times feeling like I must not have tried hard enough because I wasn't sweaty or out of breath or crawling to my car because my arms & legs were angry noodles (I love to overdo things). About 5-8 hours later the DOMS were kicking my butt (no, not those kinds of doms, I'm talking about Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) in a good way - I was stiff and sore and uncomfortable but not in a painful, negative way just in the good "I feel like I got a good workout but I'm not dying" kind of way.

It took a few sessions to really see the changes but after just a couple of weeks my neck and back were doing measurably better, my knee and lower back pain were reduced, and I was been more aware of my posture and my walking gait. After about 6 weeks I'm now feeling the difference in my abs and back and I'm able to do stairs more frequently.

I never got results like this from yoga alone and my results from personal training in the past were always offset by injuries or The Dread of going. This I actually look forward to and I feel like I'm healing my body and feeling more energized and not drained like...

I am a 62-year-old woman who has worked with Erica off & on for about eight years now. About a year ago I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I’ve always been a very athletic individual before I retired I was an aquatics director and a USA swim team coach. But I will say the Pilate Machine that Erica has me working on now is building up my muscle mass. Which after the second week I discovered is helping my blood pressure tremendously. I do suffer from high blood pressure but since I have been scheduling and using this Pilates machine I no longer need my blood pressure medication. All I have to say is if you want to get healthy and fit mentally and physically Erica is the one that you need. She is very educated she is very knowledgeable and she cares. I would never put my physical body or my health in anyone else’s hands besides hers my own and my family physician. I will be forever be grateful for Erica getting me back on my feet again. Pami...

Yesterday I had the pleasure of experiencing hypnosis therapy with the amazing Erica Collins thanks to a gift from a friend. I was skeptical at first because my anxiety has been so out of control lately. Let me tell you, I have never and I mean NEVER felt so relaxed and at peace in my entire life. If you know me well enough, you know I'm wound super tight and always stressed out. Even prior to my session, I was all worked up because I had been arguing with T-Mobile for two hours. Once the session began and I experienced hypnosis for the first time, I could have fallen asleep at any moment. My entire body relaxed and my mind was calm. I highly recommend giving hypnosis therapy with Erica a try if you've ever been curious! She is amazing and so thorough. She gave me tools in one session that countless sessions of psychotherapy never taught me. Thank you, Erica for such an amazing experience. I had the best sleep ever last night....
