For the longest time, I have wanted to build my own arcade cabinet with old-school arcade joysticks and buttons. Know what I know about myself, I knew that if I bought the parts, they would wind up in the closet collecting dust. Instead, I researched a bunch of different turnkey retro arcade manufacturers. Based on offerings, price, and build quality, I decided to order from AGC. I ordered a 2-player XL cabinet with a spinner, trackball, two light guns, Pixelcade marquee, and- of course- a functioning coin slot. I opted for the Pi version because I'm not much of a console player. I had emailed Ryan for a copy of the games list they offered. I was thoroughly impressed with the expansive list and the emulators they supported. Using Batocera was a great choice. Ryan and I emailed back and forth throughout the build process, keeping me up to date every step of the way. He was transparent about supplier delays, but I knew good things come to those who wait. He was great about accommodating a last-minute change, and we even got to speak on a more personal level about his company and love of retro gaming. When my cabinet was delivered, the first thing I noticed was the packaging. Everything was secure and no damage. The second thing I noticed was how amazing the wrap looked. The colors are vivid and was applied with great care. No bubbles or scratches. Finally, I was quite impressed with the build quality. Everything is solid and you can tell they spared no expense with top-quality parts. The joysticks are comfortable and exact with their direction. The trackball is smooth and responsive, as are the spinner and light guns. When I finally turned on the cabinet, I was blown away. I didn't know where to start! So many amazing games. I felt like I was back in the arcade. Another thing to mention is the amazing support. I had a few problems and Ryan was quick to answer. Everything is working like a charm. I do have one small nitpick, which is the small hole cut into the front panel below the joysticks. I am not sure what it's for but it could have been plugged or covered over. Like I said, minor. You can't go wrong buying a cabinet from AGC. 6...
Read moreStop the search. Stop shopping. It's over. ORDER HERE!! From start to finish the process has been exceptional all along the way. Ryan and Raegan both have been highly responsive and attentive to any questions or (simple) requests that I had. Being able to call and reach a human, or receive a proper email response within 24 hours is highly welcomed in today's era of questionable service. The machine arrived right in the timeframe that was originally expressed. Yes, there's a little more of a price tag and from the moment of arrival it will be evident that it's worth it. When comparing other machines, it weighed notably more than many other comparable cabinets I encountered. Upon unwrapping it became clear that it is a much more robust construction than many others I considered and looked at in person. The joysticks and buttons are all highly responsive. The interface works seamlessly and efficiently. Overall, highly satisfied and strongly recommend American...
