Slatestone Grocery N Grill — Local services in Washington

I was in the search of the best fried shrimp when a friend recommended this place. I'm born and raised here and moved back here to raise my son. After 40 years living in this time, I had never been to Slatestone. So, I called them up and ordered a shrimp plate.

I made my way there which is at least 10 miles from my house. When I got there, the food was ready. I paid $12.48 which I thought was a good price.

I could not wait to get home to taste the shrimp so I sneaked one when I pulled out of the parking lot. It was perfect, not overcooked, not greasy, not over seasoned, simply perfect. They are at the top ranking of all the restaurants I'm been to for fried shrimp. I still have a few more to get to but I hold out no hope they are better than Slatestone. I even went back the next Friday for Seafood Night and got shrimp, scallops, and flounder. I cannot begin to express how good all of that was. Scallops were huge and there were 6 or 7 on a combination plate. Flounder was cooked perfectly. I can't say enough good about this place. And to think they've been there all this time while I had to deal either with substandard seafood or I had to just cook it at home. I put all of my reviews on Facebook and apparently a lot of people didn't know about the grill. Look for more customers, especially for Seafood Friday!

I've have always been a fan of their breakfast biscuits!! My favorite was always country ham, egg and cheese biscuits!! I love Wednesdays because that is fried chicken, collard & pigtail, and mac & cheese day. You have to go in early to get a pigtail though.
