Yesterday we had a very exciting day. It started out rather dreadful and ended up very joyful. About 12 oāclock in the afternoon Boy Dog came home. Soaking wet & Just covered in Ice Cubes & Ice sickles and I knew if he could talk he'd tell me WE really messed up mom - Well since the two of them are very seldom far from each other within about 10 minutes I knew something was terribly wrong there was no Little Gurl I knew if Boy could talk he would tell me where she was or what had happened - he was super stressed. I went looking and calling and didnāt have any luck. I kept wishing I had a drone⦠I remembered a couple of our neighbors having them, my one neighbor of which I knew couldnāt get here yet š„²š³and the other one I knew he had been working hard grooming trails, I called him anyways; have to say thank you to Calvin and Kelsey Flannigan As soon as I called them, they came down with their drone. they made it in record time from Onestone Lake to Skwentna riding double on a super wide - I think Calvin should run Iron Dog. Calvin put his drone up and they found her of course on the other side of the river and since the river still flowing pretty good on the Skwentna. We were between a rock and a hard place. Kelsey stayed across from where they found her and kept her calm ā¤ļø for over an hour! I called Rob at Heli Alaska, and I barely got the words out of my mouth and he said āIām on my way to the hanger. Iāll be there as soon as I can āand true to his word he was here... So between the big drone (Alaska Heli's R44)and the little drone (Calviins Drone) we got our little drowned rat home, I canāt say thank you enough to these folks and Iām sure if our little girl could talk. She would say thank you too. I know she would lick them to death ā¤ļøš¤š special thanks to Calvin, Kelsey, Rob of Heli Alaska and Heidi for helping me bring my Lucky little Gurl Home!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went on the Knik Glacier tour with Rob in mid July. Justin called us the night before to make sure our arrangements were set and that we had a plan for the best possible experience based on the weather conditions. He was wonderful at making sure that he understood our expectations and that our trip was perfect for us. We met Justin for a safety briefing at Mat-Su resort and Rob landed the helicopter right on their dock at the edge of the lake. Rob was an experienced pilot and part owner of the business. He flew us over the hay flats and up the pass over Eklutna glacier. We then went over to Knik glacier where Rob found a beautiful blue pool to land by. We put on spikes and got to adventure on top of the glacier. We took in the amazing views, filled a water bottle with glacier water, gave our hands a little mud mask treatment, and best of all, my husband jumped into a glacial pool. Rob gave us plenty of time to enjoy ourselves and then he flew us around to see some more stunning views. We even saw moose playing in a creek. When we landed, we took some time to celebrate by having beverages and an Alaskan king crab dinner in the resort. While we were eating dinner, we were able to watch the next tour takeoff and land. This was an experience of a lifetime and an amazing way to celebrate my husbandās 50th birthday. We would recommend it to anyone looking for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSuper grateful for the guys with Heli alaska. The whole process was a smooth transition to make sure recovering my Sled was a weight lifted off my shoulder. Everything was coordinated beautifully, communication was on point and their timing was spectacular. Justin and Dusty coordinated and communicated with me to make sure I had everything that was needed to airlift my snowmobile out of the backcountry where it was unrecoverable by land. They had every last little detail from start to finish to ensure the success of removing my sled. When we first saw that chopper coming over the mountain, it was less than a minute and 30 seconds to lift. Robās immaculate piloting skills, slow rolled in with that hook, super smooth float in to hook up straps, and watch that sled ease off the snow. The overwhelming joy and satisfaction that I felt watching my sled going over the mountain heading to the Seward airport was beyond words. so I thank them again for all the tremendous help...
