The course is beautiful and we were enjoying ourselves going 2-3 times a week. Well, that changed today, the owner obviously has anger issues and could care less about customer service. Yesterday we played 9 holes and were behind a group of 8, no problem, when we caught up to them, they let us play through. Today we had a group of 6 that wasn't even half way down the fairway when the owner came down and yelled at us like children. Before we could even talk to him, he drove away. There wasn't anyone behind us at this time. We went on to finish the first hole. We split up at the second. We saw him driving around and hiding by trash cans to watch us, again like we were children. We continue to play, split up. There was a group of 4 behind us and a group of 5 behind them. Well, we caught up to our group of two and decided to finish hole 5. The owner comes across the fairway and again yells at us like children. We were holding no one up and even talked to the group behind us and they said they were fine. Well, we decided to leave the course and ask for a full refund. We loved the course but refuse to be treated like children. There was absolutely no respect on his part even after my husband and I tried to talk to him. Unfortunately for him he lost us 6 as customers and I intend to spread the word. Maybe they should change the name to...
Read moreI had a great playing this course today. Joe make me feel like a was local. The course was wet due to heavy rains the night before (all courses in the area were wet) and for the most part it did change the hitting conditions. The Pro Shop was nice with a good selections of clothes and equipment.
The greens were great shape, with very good fairways (I didn't lose many balls, other then poor play on my part). The carts were clean and in good shape (USB charger in cart).
Staff and other players were very friendly. I understand this place has new ownership and they are planning to add a short game area and a hitting net to warm up in the next year. Currently no sand traps (no complaints from me). FYI if your using a GPS golf watch, the course currently comes up under Crab Apple Ridge Golf Course and not The Ridge Golf Course (as of 08/14/2021), I'm assuming this will change next year as they update the design.
I love the online tee time option, as I booked after business hours once I got in town. I wish they had coffee available this morning (Saturday).
I will be back again the next time I'm in the...
Read moreCourse is total crap. Always flooded!! Cart paths (if you want to even call them that) are in complete shambles with rivers going through them. Unkept roughs. Awful tee boxes. Average at best fairways. Greens are about the only thing that are decent. Completely overpriced sloppy mess of a course. It's either $45 or $48 for 18! Save yourself money and drive a little further south to Venango Valley Inn. Mound grove or fox run are better options as well. Also, if you make a tee time for 1 person, that tee time is dependent on whether or not 3 strangers that you have never met show up. So you can show up early and be ready, only to have the older blonde hair woman tell you she won't let you out if 3 randoms don't show up to their tee time. Maybe put this information on your website when booking. I've given this course a dozen or so opportunities, and almost every time it has been an awful experience from the moment you check in. Never again will I waste money...
