Mississippi has some beautiful white sand beaches. Waveland beach is quiet without very many people. There are large sections of beach where you will find that you are the only person in sight. Wave action is generally light, less than one foot. Gulf coast temperature's in the summer can be brutal. Highs in the 90s with humidity levels 80 to 100% are common. The water is warm and the sand is white and soft, but the water only really goes up to your thighs, so not the best for swimming. 🩴

If you’re looking for nice beaches with lots of amenities, relaxed, friendly and welcoming culture or a place to vacation, driving another two hours is worth it! 🏖️

The local Karen’s here stir up drama and trouble for visitors. In my opinion the town just doesn’t have a welcoming vibe. 😔

We had a great experience at Waveland Beach! Took our paddle boards, rented beach chairs and umbrella (from the Pearl Hotel) rode bikes on the paved bike lane, took a picnic lunch. Pretty shallow and warm water in July. We literally had the right side of the beach totally to ourselves. Bathrooms and shower available. We came here a few days during our week long vacation.
