I originally gave them 5 stars. I grew up going to this race track when it was KC Raceway and I've been here many many times since it's been Atomic Speedway and I use to absolutely loved it here. I came today with my Family and we were just here a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure when everything changed, but I probably won't be coming back and it breaks my heart to see the changes happening here. I didn't like the face that they wanted to make a few extra bux by charging more to sit at the top of the bleachers and the next 2 rows down. There is already an area that families can sit by the playground in the bleachers that you can't smoke in and now you can't smoke anywhere in or around any of the bleachers, but you can get completely drunk and act stupid stumbling around in the bleachers. Had I known about this change I wouldn't have paid all that extra money to sit at the top where my family always sits. It's hard enough to try and get through the crowd that doesn't want to move to let you through each time you have to use the restroom and go get something to eat or drink but now you have to take the chance on falling to smoke as well. Because of this my family is sitting up there trying to enjoy the races while I'm stuck sitting on bricks and can't see the track. People are so worried about others smoking but don't care if the fumes from the cars and the dirt from the track gets inhaled. This is stupid in my opinion. Those people should sit in the non-smoking bleachers and bring a bubble to sit in so they don't have to breath in anything. This is an outdoor track with dirt and fumes and more than enough drunk people, so maybe this isn't the kind of place for people who are afraid of everything they sell...
Read moreThe facility is nice. They have several divisions that run at the track. They had 410 sprints, late models, and mods when I went. The track was fast, but very dusty for the whole event. I would have liked to see a little water put down after the heats. When the field would restart you couldn't see the cars for a couple laps due to dust and dirt flying. The only other issue was how long track clean up took. Even just a simple spin where the car needed pushed off again took a lot longer than it should have.
The bathroom was decent. Clean and in good working order. Can't speak for the ladies side.
There were a lot of food choices. A beer garden, and food truck. Merchandise trailers and tables had shirts hoodies and more for sale. I tried their cheeseburgers and they were good. Nothing fancy just a normal burger. The funnel cake was really good.
It was a three hour drive for me to get to the track. It's a place I can see myself returning to, but it would need to be a big show or if this was the only...
Read moreRan down, nasty looking seats make it not worth the $30-40 to enter. The owner speaks to people that are fans like trash. He blocks people who he disagrees with from the page. You cannot buy tees from them they beg you to buy unless you go pay for a ticket to walk in, as they don't want to sell them to fans any other way. The dude owning this establishment ran off someone who bought and came out often. He'll run the place further into the ground long before we run out of money to support dirt racers and dirt tracks. Sad man running a sad track. Call it Pathetic Speedway for where it is...
