I am honored to know WCV and watch the work that happens at this Wildlife Facility. It is among the best I have ever seen. The staff are skilled, compassionate, and love their jobs. They also provide care and information to others based on high ethical standards and integrity. One of the reasons I respect them so highly is not only because they provide excellent care to the patients and educational ambassadors, but also because they are always honest with their followers. They tell us like it is and never hide the facts. Whether it is what we wish to hear and is good news, or bad news because a critter was so injured when they arrived that it didn't make it. They only hire the best of the best in the vet, rehab and outreach fields and their administrative staff is top notch. I am proud and happy that they will be nearby to where my husband and I are moving. I will take any animal I come across that needs their care, knowing it will get the best available care.

The staff were very helpful in taking in an injured bird and were very friendly to my daughter and myself. They took time to answer our questions and were very knowledgeable about the animals. I work at a school and they were happy to answer questions I had about doing a presentation or a tour.

My son rescued a fawn that was caught in a fence and the wildlife center refused to let us bring it in for treatment or even humane euthanasia. This baby can’t even stand up. What good is a wildlife center that won’t help wildlife?

I can't personally say enough about the Wildlife Center of Virginia. For years now I have been personally inspired and had my life changed. This is due to the compassionate and incredibly dedicated staff throughout the center.

The Veterinary staff are truly top notch, they will go the extra mile to treat injured wildlife and to ensure the wonderful ambassadors of the center maintain an immaculate level of health. They also openly share extensive knowledge and tools with anyone who is looking to learn! Add to that if you will an Outreach Department that works incredibly hard to maintain a high quality website, while also working endlessly to provide educational programming both during live events, and via an online moderated discussion! Perhaps the crowning achievement of the Outreach staff lies in the maintenance of the comprehensive "Critter Cam" system, this system allows viewers from around the world to witness live via cameras wildlife on a level many like myself would not have otherwise encountered. When we are not viewing specific species we are even treated to incredible behind the scenes events such as "Hospital Cam" or "ICU Cam" where we get to witness the vet staff, and rehab staff hard at work!

As an added personal remark, I will say this, I don't take donating to any organization lightly. I am someone who works hard just to balance the basics. Yet I commit where I can to donating to the Wildlife Center of Virginia because they are truly one of a kind. You will see instantly how much your donation means, even the smallest effort! You never need to worry about the amount because they embrace you as part of their growing community knowing it is coming from the depth of your heart to give what you can. You see your dollars at work when you read patient updates, or when news of a patient release is posted! Can you imagine the satisfaction of knowing you had a hand in saving a life and giving an animal their second chance?

Now if this review can't give you enough of an idea of what the Wildlife Center of Virginia is truly like, then I offer this: sign up for an Open House tour, or log on to the "Critter Cams" and its accompanying discussion! Once you experience the wonder and inspiration that the center creates I am certain that you will become an avid viewer, contributor and part of the ever growing group of people like myself that considers the center...

Visiting the Wildlife Center of Virginia was a highlight of my life. Having been a supporter for many years, I found actually being there and meeting some of the staff and seeing in person how much they truly care for their patients to be a marvelous and touching experience. They dedicate themselves not only to treating animals in need of their services but also to educating all of us so that we can be good stewards of the wildlife we are blessed to share the planet with. They host an excellent website that includes three streaming cams and go out of their way to keep viewers apprised of what goes on, both the good and the bad. They use their online discussion to host sessions with school classes across the country in which they answer students' questions and provide all sorts of additional information via videos and photographs. Sometimes their work attracts national and even...
