Grandpas Woods Golf Course — Local services in Weeping Water

I think this may be my new favorite golf course. It was the most relaxing round I've ever experienced. No pressure from behind, no over packed schedule, no one hitting into you, no waiting on any tee box, no sand traps. There is such a relaxed vibe here it's hard to process at first. Then you realize this is the kind of place where families come to play together. We saw a grandfather riding with his 6 year old grandson. A young mom learning the game with her two young daughters. It's a really cool place that shows you what golf is supposed to be like. I hit from the back tees and got to use nearly every club in my bag which was fun. It's a great place to work on your short game due to the fast and tiny well-kept greens. The course conditions are fantastic and they're adding a new practice green and a few other upgrades, while still maintaining the awesome feel of the place. If golf had its version of A Field of Dreams, this might be the place....

Wife and I are avid golfer, both nearing 80, ... and we're aiming to play golf in all 50 states ... so now look for courses that are on the shorter side. Grandpa's Woods fit the bill! Staff were super friendly, course was in great shape.

Lack of sand bunkers and water, except for hole #7, did not take away from the course's challenges. Smaller and sloping greens and narrow fairways, many lined by trees, made the course challenging enough.
