Took a trip down memory lane and stopped to buy sausage at Kasper Meat Mkt in Weimar, Tx. Alas, everything must change. The storefront has aged quite a bit and needs a lot of TLC. Hence 4/5 stars because of first impressions. But, as soon as I stepped inside, I was back in 1961, coming home to Weimar with Granny to buy her beloved sausage! That smoky aroma took me back 60 years! The staff was chatty and enjoyed hearing my tales of days gone by eating “Weimar sausage”. I’m happy to say the product still satisfies the palette. When I was a kid about 47 years ago we couldn't wait to buy Kaspers sausage on Thursdays that was delivered to nearby Heinsohns store in Frelsburg. In them days because everyone was tight we rarely ventured the 34 miles. Lol! The meats are super fresh and the beef jerky outstanding. My favorite is the peppered bacon. Wow. It is dry cured so it isn't all wet and nasty like that supermarket trash. Plus it doesn't shrink down to nothing. God bless the Kasper family owned business for many more...
