If you're looking for the best burger in the Austin, Texas area, look no further than Weirs Country Store in Weir, Texas. This little country store may not look like much from the outside, but trust me, the burger they serve up is pure heaven. I've been on a quest to find the perfect burger for a while now, and I can honestly say that this one takes the cake. First off, let me just say that I love a messy, thick, greasy burger. And that's exactly what you'll get at Weirs Country Store. The patty is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of grease to make it melt in your mouth. And the toppings? Simple, but oh so delicious. It's clear that the folks at Weirs know that when it comes to burgers, less is often more. But the burger isn't the only thing that's amazing here. The fries are crispy and perfectly salted, and the overall vibe of the place is just so charming. It's the kind of hole in the wall joint that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a secret gem. And let me tell you, this place is worth braving a storm for. My girlfriend and I visited during a severe storm that knocked out the power, but we were determined to try this burger. We had to leave and wait out the storm, but as soon as we could, we headed back to Weirs. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. The burger was everything I had hoped for and more. Overall, I give Weirs Country Store a 12 out of 10. Yes, you read that right. This place is just that damn good. If you're a burger lover like me, you owe it to yourself to make the trip out to Weir and try this burger. You won't regret it.

This place is honestly gross. Makes me sad that some people would give it a four-star review. They can't even get a basic french fry right. Which I knew before ordering and should not have ignored the smell of old oil. Which they also don't cook at a hot enough temperature resulting in too much oil absorbing into the fries and onion rings. See my photo of onion rings literally sitting in a pool of oil. Sausage is dried and frankly and embarrassment for Texas. Chopped beef sandwich is your basic mushy pulled pork style. No real texture. Probably frozen and not homemade. Burger is edible. We honestly threw away the majority of our food. And my soul was unhappy for an hour with the foul flavors in my mouth of too much bad oil. I honestly went straight to another restaurant after this just to fix my flavors. I wanted to like this restaurant because I'm down with the obscure hole in the wall vibe. But sadly there's not only no reason to go there but even if you live in the neighborhood probably no reason to eat there. And the area is a little bit unsightly. More creepy than country vibes. Drive the extra 10 minutes to downtown Georgetown. Or even drive the extra 10 minutes to McDonald's. If you can't get fries or sausage right... Came here by accident. Wasn't paying attention and I had this saved in my Google maps. I meant to go to Andice general store and so should you.

This out of the way cafe has been on my list of places to visit for a while now. On a Friday I finally made time for a lunch stop to check it out. I had a small mix plate with brisket and sausage, pinto beans, potato salad, pickles, onions, a slice of bread and some bbq sauce. The brisket was a tad dry but flavorful, as was the sausage. Both of the sides were complimentary for the meats. I wasn't impressed with their bbq sauce because it appeared to be from a bottle, but it had a strange taste, like a weird ingredient that wasn't supposed to be there. Overall, the meal was a solid 4 stars because I liked it. The atmosphere is very quaint, countryish, with plenty of ranchers and rural folks hanging out discussing hay prices and the weather. I loved it! It's a nice spot off the beaten path that has good variety of hot foods and even grocery items and cold drinks, both cans, bottles and fountain. Stop on by and give em some bidness. They'd appreciate it. Good folks, they are. Update March 2023: The bacon cheeseburger and fries are exceptional here. We made another lunch stop on a recent Friday and arrived just before an influx of other folks. This store definitely has charm and plenty of good vibes. Love to see happy people treat others as good neighbors and friends while serving them joyfully.
