Extra Space Storage in Wells, ME is convenient, clean, and incredibly welcoming. We needed a storage unit on short notice during an interstate move, and this location exceeded our expectations. Suzanne, the District Team Lead, was especially helpful and kind. Her experience handling all kinds of storage needs and emergencies was evident from the start.

We were able to secure a unit quickly and had it filled in no time. We kept our items there for nine months — including through a harsh Maine winter. I was initially concerned about storing upholstered furniture and antiques in a non-climate-controlled unit, but everything came through in perfect condition!

The facility is well-maintained, secure, and always clean. Suzanne and her team are not only knowledgeable but genuinely hospitable. She even remembered my name every time I stopped in — a small gesture that made a big impression.

We rented two storage units from them. The staff was very helpful and kind, but we decided to leave after they raised our rent by 52% on our larger unit, and 94% on our smaller unit, after only a few months. We were told it was due to “increasing costs”.

There was a leak in the roof over our larger unit, causing water to come in and damaging a wedding dress. We were promised they would promptly fix the roof. When we moved out several months later, the holes were still there.

On two occasions, I tried to access the unit before office hours but still at a time when our code should have allowed us access to the site. The automated gate did not work. On the second occasion, I was able to open the gate manually by just pulling the gate open with minimal force, causing me to question the security of the facility.

Overall nice people, but I wouldn’t recommend renting there. There are more affordable options. We ultimately found a larger unit for our items and are paying...

Suzanne at the Sanford Rd. Wells, ME Extra Space Storage location is Excellent. She is personable, is very experienced, goes above and beyond. I felt that she helped me out tremendously. Moving tends to be a stressful time but she made it as stress free as possible for which I am most Grateful. I originally picked a basic smaller unit but then realized I needed a Climate Controlled Unit and she was able to find one for me. She listened to the items I had and recommended a slightly larger unit. When the moving guys helped me get everything into the unit we all noted that Suzanne had nailed it exactly for the amount of storage space I needed. WOW! That was beyond helpful.
