Ah - Bear Mountain Ranch. Played this course for the first time yesterday, 22 June 2021. There aren't many superlatives that I can think of that hasn't already been written about this wonderful course, but I have more. Spectacular setting. Superior customer service - from a nice, friendly, accommodating gentleman of a course pro, Rick - to his assistant, Matt - to the great ladies in the snack bar. I enjoyed a nice, relaxing round of golf on this impeccably-maintained course. I would call the front 9 the "amazing views" side, with sweeping views of Lake Chelan and surrounding mountains. I love elevated tee boxes, and this side has many - quite the drop on the Par 4 #4...really fun! Another great characteristic about this side is that it's mostly undeveloped. The back 9 is totally undeveloped, and thus I'd call it the "peaceful, neatly-designed tucked back in the canyon" side - a wild landscape with water in play on two holes. Both sides benefit from a very adept - and courteous toward the golfers - grounds crew who do amazing work in this dry - and thus very challenging - environment. Water is at a premium at that elevation. Oh, BTW...thanks to the gentleman on the mower at #4...he spotted my ball as I hit it into the sun! :-) After my round I took a seat on the beautiful patio and enjoyed a quite inexpensive ham and swiss sandwich. Such a peaceful garden setting overlooking the 18th green. This retired Navy man salutes the entire staff at Bear Mountain...you guys rock! I'll certainly be back! Highly...
Read morePut Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course on your “must play” list of great WA golf courses. Very friendly and accommodating staff. New General Manager is focused on First Class Player and Guest experience our group experienced all of that. The course was in great condition. The views are the best among the Top 10 courses in Eastern Washington (This trip our group played Gamble Sands, Desert Canyon, Wine Valley Palouse Ridge Bear Mountain Ridge). The course design will challenge players at every level with strategically placed and well maintained bunkers, rolling fairways and undulating greens-but not too fast. Some fun elevated tees with wind at your back. If you’re playing BMR for the first time, be sure and ask Pro Shop or Starter for ideal Target and Distance for the “blind shot” Tee Shot on Hole #1. This will help put you in Birdie 2nd shot position with a short iron/wedge. Also, the smooth running battery powered Golf Carts with excellent Hole and Putting Surface distance layouts are aplaying experience extra bonus. Close proximity to Chelan 10 min drive) gives you very affordable lodging and restaurant options for a multi- day stay for golf and wine tasting. Give BMR a try, you’ll be...
Read moreThe top course I have played this year!!!! It was my first time to play here and it was almost perfect. It started with the cart guy being excited about this course and sharing his knowledge about different holes. This than was followed by the pro shop giving us extra tips on how to play certain holes and guiding us on how to get around. Meaning there carts have gps and guide you. To me the cart became my personal caddie and helped me play a course I have never seen. This leads me to quality of course. The greens were in great shape and allowed me to stop or spin back my ball. The fairways were cut at a height that played well. The rough was just rough so make sure you stay in the short grass but you could still play from it. Tee boxes were flat and level but most of all the elevation change to the fairways were just breathtaking. Green fees are priced at a point that anyone who plays can choose this course. Views on this course are a piece of heaven. I enjoyed this course because it was about the journey and not just the destination. Thanks again Bear Mountain for everything it was an honor to be able...
