Originally, I wasn’t going to write this review. However, every single day I look at my floors and am reminded of how unhappy I am with the results and how I feel this company did not thoroughly provide the 5-star service that so many others seem to have experienced.
We used their carpet cleaning and floor cleaning services. While the carpet was cleaned, they didn’t do the edges, so the borders of the carpet still look black. It leaves the overall result looking unfinished.
As for the hard flooring (washroom, kitchen, and downstairs bathroom), they skipped hard-to-reach places—under the island, corners, and edges in all rooms. Those areas look untouched, which really stands out and makes the whole job look incomplete.
They also forgot to do the upstairs bathroom, even though it was listed on the invoice and paid for. After they left, we had to call them back to complete it. The technician even admitted they hadn’t tested their chemicals upstairs and “weren’t sure if it would work.” Ironically, the upstairs bathroom ended up being the only room that looked properly cleaned—and that was after I had to point out everything that was missed downstairs. Unfortunately, during that cleaning, he also got chemicals on my wood floor, which left noticeable damage. To their credit, they did comp the upstairs bathroom off our bill, so I do want to acknowledge that they made some effort to right the mistake.
When I voiced my concerns about how bad the downstairs floors looked, the technician’s response was, “Well, I tried to go over those areas multiple times and it wouldn’t come up.” Yet when I scrubbed those same spots myself afterward, they did come up. If I can clean them manually, I expect a professional service with proper equipment to do at least as well, if not better.
Overall, while they did attempt to make things right with the upstairs bathroom, this was still not the 5-star experience I was expecting based on the glowing reviews I had read. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company based on...
Read moreI would write this review even if I did not get a $10.00 discount. Had a terrible stained carpet in a room that we let people who needed a temporary place to stay occupy. Unfortunately, they took advantage and left it trashed. I thought we were going to have to replace it for $$$. Friend of mine said try these people. Professional at every level, from the first call to the reminder call the day before. I was not expecting much, thought the rug would turn out ok but expecting the "We tried speech". Phil called the morning of to tell me he was on his way. He let me know what kinda of carpet it was, the characteristics of the carpet, and what he was going to do. He went to work and explained the chemicals he used to pre -treat followed by hot water extraction. I was thinking it was going to make the carpet soggy but I was wrong, it wasn't. After he was done I could not believe it, it was incredible. I shared photos with some friends and they were all blown away. It went from tear out to nice in an hour and half to 2 hours. Cost, well the old saying you get what you pay for probably applies. For me and my finances, it was expensive, but for others it would probably be very reasonable. In the end it was so worth it because replacement would have been far more expensive than the cost to clean it. I would never use the rental carpet cleaner at the grocery store again. I talked to my wife and told her they do upholstery, I am sure it would be fantastic and maybe we will budget that for next year . I would totally recommend and...
Read moreA few months ago my father was moving into a retirement home and he had to sell his house. One problem---it had mold in the one corner of his basement. In a bind, I had to think fast and the first person who came to mind was Phil Stoltzfus of the Rug Beaters. I knew Phil and his wife Lori for over 40 years and he had done work for me in the past with my carpets and his work was impeccable. I have used him for years and would never let anyone else touch my carpets. But this was a different problem for me with my dad and his mold dilemma. I knew Phil had done restoration work so I figured he would be able to help me out. Well... he did more than that. Knowing that I was on a tight schedule, he shuffled his own schedule to squeeze me in. He not only got rid of the mold but also replaced the paneling, re-studded some of the walls and replaced the ceiling tiles. He was a lifesaver for me and I could never thank him enough. But thanks to his selflessness, he put me first and took care of my needs. There are good companies and there are great companies. And then there are great companies that go that extra mile for their customers and that is where the Rug Beater towers over the rest of their competition. I hope that Phil and his company stay in business for a long time. I know I will always use them and it is a comfort to know that they are there. I would not only highly recommend them but to go elsewhere would be just crazy. They are...
