I’m a big fan of the Wes Anderson film “Moonrise a Kingdom” and I spent my one week vacation in Boston retracing all of the movie locations that I could find. I was here during the depths of winter when it was cold, overcast and drizzling off and on and despite this this location was incredibly beautiful! In more moderate spring or summer weather this place must be spectacular! For any Moonrise Kingdom fans this is where Suzy and Sam are walking alongside a stream, sucking on pebbles to quench their thirst, and crossing a stream while holding a rope. The waterfalls themselves while not tall or very wide are picturesque and the sound of the falls and the nearby stream are incredibly relaxing!

Sorry the attached pictures don’t include the pictures of the...

One of our first hikes in Rhode Island and while the ride down to the trails is a little tricky in a tiny coupe (vs a Jeep or truck), it is totally worth it. Just stepping foot into the lush, green forest, I was stunned by the beauty that surrounded me and the crisp, fresh air. I thought the falls were magnificent and it was really nice to see that people were managing to keep the area very clean. It was also a pleasant surprise to see how far up the trails go and while we were unable to hike the entire way that day, we do look forward to going back and taking a longer hike. Stepstone Falls is a must visit for any local Rhode Islander, and I do recommend it to anyone just...

A very scenic place with good trails. My wife and I made our first visit on an early-April weeekend. We'd intended to hike the Ben Utter trail, but the Escoheag Trail was gated and it would have made for a longer hike than wee wanted, so we continued north on Escoheag Hill Road until we got to Falls River Road. We drove in a little way and parked at one of several open spots along the side of the road, then walked down the very steep road to the Falls. There were a few other people there enjoying the beauty, hiking, trail running, etc. As others have mentioned, it looks like it would be a great place to take a dip...

Beautiful waterfalls area with trails to explore. Limited parking on this remote dirt road. Great biking and hiking, especially in the fall. Wear orange during the hunting season. This is a special place, not far from beach pond within Arcadia., Ben Utter trail. Great stop on the bikes.
