The quality of these units are equivalent to low income housing and they are charging us as if we live in a luxury apartment complex. There are no luxuries. Everything is run down. Everything in every apartment needs to be Remodeled. DO NOT let the photos on the website fool you. The pool if/when open is extremely shady and the water is freezing even on nice days due to lack of sunlight. The Gym is a modified apartment and no one ever uses it. There is no community center. Their idea of an "upgraded" unit is to repaint over 40+ years of paint, and cover up moldy bathrooms with cheapo Bath Fitters. I have photos of before and after the upgrades were completed. The drains clog constantly, everything breaks, all the time. Lets not forget about the Aluminum wiring through the units where nothing is conviently placed. The electrical panel trips all the time because there are not enough circuit to handle todays modern electronics. The fire department comes every so often for electrical fires. The floor upgrades consisted of the cheapest carpet the flooring company has to offer, I know because I asked them while they were installing. The "hardwood" floors consist of the thinnest vinyl planking flooring I have ever seen, with terrible workmanship of the installers. My vents are extremely dusty and dirty, and they decided to simply spray paint over all that drip marks included. My kitchen cabinet upgrade meant, white spray paint, so the underside is still wood colored. My rent is just about $1950 for 1000 sqft and i have nothing to show for that price. There are hidden fees that they do not tell you about. Me and my neighbors are tired of being taken advantage of all these low end decisions/repairs (not remodeling) while charging us high-end rates. Even the employees have nothing nice to say about the complex. Its the Scully way to charge alot and only do the bare minimum. Property maintenance, individual tenant maintenance is the cheapest methods possible. The maintenance dept. is overwhelmed because too much needs to be fixed because they wont replace anything, and when they do, again it is the bottom of the barrel version of everything and they charge you like it is a Luxury apartment. DO...

The area outside the apartments calm and nice. But at the end of the day you have to come and stay inside the apartment not outside. There are snakes, rodents, long insects- I don’t even know the name of those insects. The insects are like never stopping. All the photos are attached to this post. They just come out of no where no matter how many times you get the exterminator service your apartment. These are very old apartments and the drainage system is very bad. The bathroom tub clogs every week literally and I am not kidding. I have a frequent service request right from day 1 about this problem. If you want to tour this place make sure you ask for the actual house that you are going to get and don’t fall for model house just because you are in a hurry, because if you do you are stuck here. When I came in my bathroom wasn’t even done and they just leased it out. As a inconvenience they will just throw a gift card at you.
We are spending lot of sleepless nights and having nightmares about the snakes, rodents and insects. People with kids god bless them. Don’t even rent the apartment.
After looking at this review some manager is going to wake up and send a template sorry for the inconvenience and reach out to resolve your concern but they are not going to. I have attached the response as well for my problems and you can look at the response in the images I have uploaded.
The response from the manager is clear that they are not going to help me leave this place. So I have reached out to Housing code enforcement...
Read moreI lived there for two years. There weren't hidden fees, and the entirety of my security deposit was returned to me less the final utility bill. Parking is very easy, mail and packages are convenient and I never had an issue with a package being stolen even when boxes were left in the hall for multiple days while out of town. I had an issue with Indian Meal Moths (Pantry Moths) when I first moved in, which had been brought to the attention of management a month previously, and it was handled for me over the course of the next month and a half - some frustration that it wasn't resolved before I moved in, but they responded quickly upon learning that it was still a problem. I asked for the dinning room light to be removed, as I intended to use that area as a home office - maintenance was a little slow in responding to that request, but it was handled without issue or charge to me. Noise levels were seldom an issue for me, although there were some renovations done to adjacent apartments near my move-out date that made working from home difficult, although that was an uncommon issue during my two years. The various people that worked the leasing office in my time there were friendly and helpful. One irritating repeated issue was that there was consistently pet hair in the washing machines, but that is less an issue with management and more with inconsiderate neighbors. Overall, very few issues in my time there - it was a comfortable and cozy space, loved the easy access to the Schuylkill River Trail, and overall would recommend the Scully Company and...
