Legit Speedway Park — Local services in West Plains

7/2023 3* The races were fun. Kind of at least. The track is so wide, that you could fit 50 cars racing together and still have room. So when racing 5-6 cars in a race, there is nothing to watch except them going in circles. No bumping, contact, etc. Other parks have much tighter tracks. More excitement. More challenge for the drivers. The racing was disappointing. I come from a different area where the tracks are tighter and much more challenging for the drivers.

And then..... What about a scoreboard? How can I see how many laps are left, etc? No scoreboard? Huh???? They start and then the spectators have to watch the flag man to determine half the race is done, one lap to go. Or even that they are done. Terrible!

For me. A die hard dirt track fan...... Visiting once in a lifetime is enough.

Concessions. So, so, so long to check out. Other parks can be strictly cash. And move people along. This was mostly standing there just waiting for the cashier to "ring" up the customers. Ugh! And we asked to find t-shirts to buy or anything else for the grandkids I brought. Nope. No T-shirts. What???? Oh well. Saved my money I guess.

On a positive note. I loved not needing my grandstand chair because you had seats with backs on them. Yay! That was great!

Staff was awesome too. Everyone smiled and was helpful.

On a Cool note. It was cool to have all those trucks out on the track at one time. Took too long. But it was...

Track wasted so much time tonight. Completely unorganized. When we first got there the announcer was bragging on how the show the night before went until 2 a.m.... That is nothing to be proud of. Simple yellow flags were a 15 minute delay due to lack of tow trucks. Guys pull off the track under a red light, same guy that caused the wreck (#88 hobby stock) go to the pits for a few minutes then come back out and get their spot back??? Then at 10:00 during an hour intermission they drag a bunch of kids on the track to bust open a pinata??? (Could have been done up top next to tower). Lack of track prep. Burnt up black in qualifying. Throwing yellows for a small piece of plastic skirting or another time for no reason at all! $5.00 for a $.50 hamburger was price gouging on full display. Thank God the super late model feature was pretty damn good or I wouldn't have a single thing good to say. We were warned that that place was a nightmare before going, but wanted to give it a shot. I only have 2 more...

We went to this track last night to watch the new Cash Money Super Dirt Series late models. This is a great track, super fast. Besides the great late model action I saw the best racing among all the other classes too. I only wish it wasn't 175 mile trip one way. I've been to this track before and really like what the owners are doing with it now. All the equipment they use even has great graphics on them. I'll think twice before I make the long haul to the diamond of dirt tracks because last night was tops, thanks Legit and race...
