Love Flint's! Such a nice family owned and run business! When we first moved into our Clinton new build home, we built raised garden beds and in 2021, they had a son who was earning money to go on a LDS Mission so he would deliver garden soil -- that was a huge help. Come 2022 and we built another bed and the truck bed was broken or sold, so delivery was no longer an option. I KNEW I needed that soil, thankfully we have wonderful neighbors who helped us out. Maybe in the future, they will deliver again.
I also love going for their selection of perennial plants (I tend to lean towards the High Country Gardens natives). Last year we purchased 4 San Marzano Tomatoes and they had a high yield and did very well. This year, I grew most of my veggies from seed, but could not resist the Juliet grape Tomato which is also thriving right now. Also bought a few Quinalt Strawberry plants that are starting to produce now and will continue growing for years with our Seascape Strawberry plants as well.
We love supporting local and small businesses and we will keep doing so in the future. The staff is always so helpful...
Read moreI asked my wife to join me for a trip to Flint's to pick out some plants on Mothers day this year; she explained to me that last year on Mothers day while she was there with our kids it was very busy. She said that she decided to go around with the items to purchase via the front of the garden center in order to circumvent the crowd since it was going to be very difficult to get back the same way. She explained that she was stopped by a Flint's employee on the way and accused of stealing. She said that she tried to explain why she was using the alternate rout to no avail and the lady continued to accuse her with our kids taking it all in. We will not be going back for two reasons; the garden center is not set up for a crowd and we will not be subjected to rediculous accusations. I'm giving an extra star because Flint's may truly have a theft problem that requires some cationary measurs; however, this honest mistake could have just as easily been resolved by the lady watching my wife proceed to...
Read moreHard to support a business that thinks they're perfect. I've bought a lot from Flints. They are friendly and reasonably priced. They make it clear, though, that all sales are final, and for the most part, I understand that. They believe that all the plants they sell are in perfect condition and have no chance to fail because of anything they might have done. Fine. We bought several plants a couple of years ago that ended up being not what they were advertised as. Called the owner, and he put the blame squarely on me. It must have been something I did that made these otherwise very healthy plants something else. I didn't know I could change the biology of a plant. I've never done business with any company that has such a complete lack of accountability for anything they do. I'm probably going to start looking elsewhere for my plant needs.
2 Months Later: Owner didn't reply to my post because he knows what he is doing is not honest. Do not go here. Do not support...
