We stayed four nights at this new RV Park. Several major pluses in a few negatives about it.
Pricing: the price is on the upper end, something that you would get in a nice RV Park. But you are paying for the convenience. The longer you stay the more you save. Since your 24-hours begins when you pay, I recommend paying when you get there, not before. This would be especially true if you are staying less than 24 hours as you save money. I do like this system. Check in at 6 pm, check out at 6 pm. We originally planned on staying 3 days, but needed to add a day and so only added 17 hours instead of the full day. Unfortunately, they wouldn't give me the 4-day rate. But that was understandable. Also, the only option was paying via PayPal. They do not take credit card over the phone. Once you reserve through their site, they send you an invoice.
Location: it was only about a mile off of an exit on interstate 44 if you are heading West. If you are heading East, the GPS will likely have you taken exit about 2 and 1/2 miles early. But the outer road isn't too bad. They have a big digital billboard above the trash area that you can't miss. The park was fairly loud outside with the highway traffic. But we didn't even notice it inside. Plus we were there when they were planting trees, that might help when they get bigger.
Service: a hands-off RV park is a great idea. But it was nice that we could also call customer service. I had to do this several times. Somebody always answered. Apparently the water and power are controlled remotely, because one time the power went out (which meant it was 90 degrees in our bus when we got back home) as well as the water. I called, they reset something, and everything was back to normal.
Amenities: everything was clean and, though there was some construction on new sites, everything appeared professional and secure. As for security, there were cameras everywhere, the ability to view the cameras via the Internet, and monitors near the dog run. The asphalt is new and is very smooth and nice. Our bus is 43 ft long (plus our trailer) so it made it a little difficult to maneuver some of the turns. But it wasn't too bad. We don't have a dog so we didn't use the dog run. We also have our own hotspot, so didn't use the Wi-Fi.
My chief complaint about the RV Park, was due to the sewer hookup and electric. The sewer hookup requires the hose to go up over the "hookup island" and then even higher to the sewer connection thus making any draining very difficult. At least from my RV. I do realize some RVs have higher connectors.
As for the power, we like to hook up the 20 amp sometimes in addition to the 50 amp. But this site only allowed for one or the other.
Perhaps I'm just dense, but it took me a little while to figure out that you had to hold the button down constantly to lift up the sewer drain cover. I kept pressing the button and waiting for somebody to unlock it. In retrospect, I feel like a dummy.
Also keep in mind that if you miss your spot you will have to leave the park and find some other place to turn around to come back. The last exit only lets you turn out of the park.
Overall, a nice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was wonderful to find a place that we were able to pull in at any time and check ourselves in on-line and then park. The facility was clean and I was happy to find a nice little enclosed pet area too. It was incredibly convenient for us while traveling from East to West coast. The only complaint I have or recommended improvement would be to the app. We have a problem reserving the spot we had chosen. The app showed the three locations available to reserve for the time frame that we provided, which was great, but the site doesn't lock out the spot you choose while you are processing your reservation. While I was entering my billing and payment information, someone else booked that same spot. When I tried to click on process payment, the app simply blinked and returned me to the review and pay screen. It didn't say there was a problem or say if it processed the payment. It simply seemed like a glitch while processing the payment. So I tried again, and again it blinked and returned me to the same review and pay screen with no explanation of why it didn't show as successfully processing and finalizing our reservation. The spot I chose was still showing on the review and pay screen along with all the rest of my information. When I went back to start completely over with my reservation, the spot I chose was not showing as available, which led me to believe that my payment had actually processed through and maybe even charged my card twice. We moved to spot we thought we had reserved and set up our trailer. While my husband set us up, I worked to contact the facility to ensure that we hadn't been charged twice. They were quick to respond to my phone call and advised me that they didn't have us showing with a reserved spot at all and that someone else's name was showing for the spot we had just completed our set up. Very frustrating as I am sure you can imagine. The trailer set up process takes about 20 to 30 minutes to do with slides and sewer and water and electricity, not to mention the disconnecting and leveling part. So, I went back online and selected one of the other available sites and completed the reservation for them. Then we had to hook back up and close back up and move to another site and do it all over again. I realize that it probably isn't something that happens very often, multiple people making a reservation for the same site at practically the same time, but it can and did happen. It would be GREAT if the site could be locked for a few minutes, maybe like 10 minutes, to allow a person to complete the payment and billing information and press process to complete their reservation. If that had been done on the app, it would have saved us about an hour of duplicated efforts to park and set up. Other than this reservation and set up frustration, we did really like the park and the quick customer service response was greatly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat concept, easy access off I44 which can be seen and heard. Thatās to be expected close to an interstate highway. We stayed in a 40 Ft coach flat towing a jeep which needed to be unhooked to make the turn onto that site. This wasnāt a problem because we were picking up supplies at Walmart a few miles away. Note that Walmart has height barriers across the entrance to prevent RVās and semiās parking in the lot. Flying J is also a few miles away and has 2 RV pumps out front. Park was clean with a fenced dog area and a few dog waste stations in the park. The grass was a little long but no dead grass to track inside. Huge mowed open open field behind the park and some trees and houses in front to part block I44 noise. We we here in the second week of June 80*F with a nice breeze. Metal picnic benches still look new. The online booking was easy and the hook ups were in good shape * note two things about them they have sliding plastic square posts you raise for access to make connections for water and sewer nice idea however you have to hold it up or open with one hand while threading the connector on with the other. The only real negative I have is the height or elevation of the sewer pipe it was so far above the ground I was unable to use the expandable plastic hose support. This also made it a flat line from my coach to the pipe opening no Pitch making a challenge along with a time consuming process to empty the tanks. My rear jacks were all the way extended. The pipe should be lowered or the Rv pad raised to accommodate Class A and travel trailers. Fifth wheels and Toy haulers may not have an issue. Or an RV with a Macerator pump. I deducted 2 stars for the...
