I was scheduled for Wednesday, but I got courtesy call on the Friday from James to warn me of a huge winter front coming in on the same day and if I was flexible, he could get me in on Tuesday before the front. I was able to swap my day for Tuesday and boy was I glad! I even got a call on Monday stating that the winds were high so we should start an hour later. When we got to the marina, the winds just stopped and it was 68 degrees at 9am and cloudy sky's. Looked like a perfect setting for my son's 7th bday fishing trip. Went five miles out and it dropped 20 degrees and the wind changed by the time we got to the spot. Action right off the bat with one each for me and my son. 6 and a 8 lb. The fish got bigger and bigger as the wind blew. Ended up with 8 eaters between 4 and 16lbs. My son got his PB at 20lbs and I lost 2 giant ones but was able to land a 38 and a 43lb. We were done at 11:30 and the weather was getting worse. There would have not been any way my son and I could have made it in the freezing cold had we stuck with Wednesday. Our day ended at 48 degrees at noon. Professional, knowledgeable and great boat and equipment made this an experience we will never forget. Theres nothing better than making memories with your kids!
