A Labor Day Weekend Must! We have visited Jackson’s Mill as long as I can remember, first as the Stonewall Jackson Jubilee and now Jackson’s Mill Jubilee. A fun place to check out lots of country fun! Tractors, crafters, petting zoo and more! The reenactment is always a fun time. The kids like to wander into the encampment to check out the activities and see the people dressed in period clothing. My camera is hot during the jubilee! Tons of great stuff to capture. If I were to request something back that is missed from the original, the exhibits. I loved taking in different halls of pairings, quilts, photos that were all judged and also were about to win a People’s Choice award. It really brought out the talent in WV which is what the jubilee was always famous for. A definite place to see!

My hero, since childhood, has been Thomas J. Jackson. From humble beginnings to educator to brilliant strategists, Jackson life greatly inspired mine. His interest in eradicating slavery through education was honorable and kind; this clearly showed his compassion for others. It hurts to see how woke Socialists have been allowed to denigrate this fine man. Jackson's Mill serves to be many things to many people, but to me it represents a place where a brilliant child came of age through hardship and hard work. The life experience Thomas Jackson would gain here would serve him the rest of his life. It honors me to walk the ground around the mill and gaze out along the river as he may have done. I am so very glad I was able to finely visit this valley on such a beautiful snowy afternoon.

We were fortunate enough to be there while a visiting school group was on lunch and the blacksmith gave us a demonstration while the fire was being stoked. Lots of history in the area if you take the time to read.

Recently, I visited Jackson's Mill for our Annual CEOS Conference. As usual, we all had a phenomenal time. Temps were crisp for the fall mornings however, the staff always has bright shining faces to welcome you each morning! Great meals awaited us each day, along with wonderful accommodations in the evening. I look forward to my stay each yr. I assure you, this is where your company, or business needs to hold their next gathering! Please consider Jackson's Mill for your...
