Football is a religion in my house and no matter what state we lived in, we always followed our Colts. Now that we are back in Indiana, we are doing all the things. Today we started the season with Colts Training Camp. August and VERY hot, but fun. The website said the gates opened at 10, but they actually opened at 11, with practice starting at 12. So it was an hour wait in the line outside to get in, and then another hour before practice started. Did I mention it was VERY hot? Colts City outside the field is fun with the Play 60 fun area for the kids, and food and merch vendors all around. It was sold out and seating was at a premium to watch the practice. We sat down early and as it got close to 12, there were many people who couldn’t find bleacher space to sit down. It was fun to see the players and feel the excitement that only football brings. If the organizers are reading, I do have some recommendations. *Get the good folks from Chick fil a to help you figure out the long lines inside Colts City. *Put the same drinks, including soda, at all the food vendors. Some didn’t have any. Some had a limited selection and not soda. Perhaps the intent was to make people visit different vendors, but the user experience of having to stand outside in the sun in long lines was not fun. *For goodness sake put out more merchandise tents. The line to get in was ridiculous, it was shoulder to shoulder inside, and the long line outside in the sun to check out was awful. I’m sure you will sell more. *Misters. Enough said. People in Arizona can tell you how to do that well. *Sell hand fans that hold water, and more icy things. August is a hot time every year. *There actually was a breeze but you couldn’t feel it in the stands because the VIP suites block the airflow. Misters. Fans. Do something. People are likely to pass out and it takes a long time of standing in the hot sun to buy a drink.
Overall however a fun way to kick off the season and get to know the players. A nice facility that could be improved to make the experience even...
Read moreMy wife, two boys and myself drove up to training camp yesterday with tickets in advance. It was light rain and held inside with a capacity of 750 fans. We were told it was sold out and not allowed in the camp. I think the outdoor capacity should be the same as the indoor capacity so everyone can enjoy training camp. I think they should have there camp at Lucas oil stadium and offer free parking for training camp to avoid people wasting there time driving with tickets and not in Westfield with...
Read moreI love The Colts! I've been attending training camp for years. This facility is much larger and more convenient than it was in Anderson (although I like it there also. Camp is a very family-friendly environment. We take the kids and they have a lot of fun! Mom and Dad do too! A big shout out to the Colts and their class act organization from top to bottom. Thanks also to Grand Park Sports Arena for their...
