We had such a great time learning about glass making and about the history of glass makers in Weston, West Virginia. The demonstration we had was very interesting and his interactions with the audience kept us on the edge of our seats. If you are planning to be in the area you won’t go wrong stopping by. You can call ahead if you are going just for a demonstration to make sure there will be a demonstration that day as they keep themselves busy and are sometimes are on the road sharing their love for this beautiful craft. We are very thankful that our granddaughter Hope-Erin was with us on this trip. We will be returning!! We will...

This shop is one of the oldest production hot shops in USA. The artisan Todd Turner is a 3rd generation hot shop worker/ glass artist. He makes the family recipe of batch cullet in house with ingredients from west virginia. This is a true American, and a testament to a successful generational family business. Aside from live glass it is a museum of sorts as well as an extensive gift shop with very affordable pricing for any budget.

A true gem, a reason to wander around northern west virginia. The town he is in is one of the historical records of USA. It was the glass capital of the west before Corning was...

I had emailed Todd asking him to make me 6 of these glasses when I moved into my new house. I go to WV once a year at least, and I always make it a point to stop by Appalachian Glass. I love watching Todd work and he’s so fun to talk to! The glasses were shipped to be individually wrapped for safe shipping. The quality of the glasses are amazing! They are heavy, sturdy, and the best part is each one of them are a little unique. A wonderful edition to my new home, and an excellent talking piece! Thank you for your exceptional craftsmanship and quick response. So happy to support such a great...

Stopped by here as a planned stop on our WV road trip. We were discouraged to find that the demonstrations were done for the day. Upon hearing this, the principal glass blower, Chip Turner, provided my friend and I a private in in-depth demonstration and informative discussion on the declining state of the once vibrant glass industry in West Virginia. I want to thank him and the others there for making that short stop on our trip one of the most enjoyable and informative stops on our entire road trip. I’d encourage anyone traveling I79 through WV to take the time to stop by.

Visited as part of a local tour. Todd did the demonstrating and was very personable and informative. He definitely has a passion for the glass industry both past and present as well as his families place in that history. The demonstration was top notch and Todd demonstrated several types of ways to blow glass. Afterwards, he was great at answering questions from the crowd. The store is well stocked with a variety of blown glass gifts made on-site. Not only do they have one of a kind works but they also do customization. Well worth the stop!
