We did the jet boat ride with Killgore Adventures on July 4, 2025. Our captain was Eric and he was AMAZING - truly knew what he was doing - and was also a great guide with a wealth of knowledge. Cassidy was his crew mate and she was also awesome. It was a rainy day, but nothing for us as we are from Oregon. Just before leaving the river, Cassidy received news that there had been a washout a short distance north of their location. Everyone was trying to get updates when we got back and the news wasn't sounding good. Killgore staff was amazing in getting as much info as possible so that individuals could make decisions. We were heading north, but had our dog with a caretaker on the south side of the washout. Killgore quickly offered us amenities at their location and we were so grateful. The next morning, the road was still closed and we were in a bit of a dilemma. ** Best part of our story: this is when staff really kicked in to help. Cassidy knew the lady who owned the fruit stand where the hillside gave way. She contacted her and the owner's daughter knew the lady who was taking care of my dog. Only in a small town !!! So, the plan was for both parties to meet on each side of the washout and use a side-by-side to navigate the rough terrain. Phoebe crossed through the mud to me and asked "are you the one looking for a dog?" and I excitedly said "yes!" and hopped in next to her. She was a great driver and navigated that difficult terrain like it was nothing. Within a short time we were on the other side and meeting up with my dog sitter. A happy reunion for sure. A little bonus - on our way home we stopped at a brewery in Hood River, OR and met a nice young couple sitting next to us. We quickly learned that Alex (also a jet boat driver) and his wife Sam said, oh you must have rode with Eric and were super complimentary of him and everyone at Killgore Adventures. I thank God for our safe travels and each and every one of these amazing people. May each of you continue...
Read moreI recently took a jet boat tour with Kilgore Adventures on the Snake River through the stunning Hell’s Canyon, and it was an absolute blast! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, exhilarating, and packed with fascinating insights about the canyon’s history and geology.
Our captain, Eric, was exceptional. He expertly navigated the boat through the river’s rapids while tailoring the ride to the group’s preferences—delivering just the right amount of splashes to keep things fun without overwhelming anyone. His skill and attentiveness made everyone feel safe and engaged. Eric’s knowledge of Hell’s Canyon was impressive, as he shared details about the area’s history
First mate Taylor was equally fantastic. Not only did she assist on the boat, but she also doubled as our shuttle driver, on a scenic 40-minute drive from the Kilgore Adventures office to the launch point. The mountain road was breathtaking, and Taylor’s friendly demeanor and local insights made the journey fly by. On the boat, she complemented Eric’s commentary with additional tidbits about the canyon, keeping the energy high and the group entertained.
The jet boat itself was top-notch—sturdy, well-designed, and perfectly suited for tackling the Snake River’s wild waters. It handled the rapids with ease, making for a smooth yet thrilling ride. Be prepared to get wet (it’s part of the fun!), but Captain Eric was great about gauging how much water the passengers wanted to take on.
Overall, Kilgore Adventures delivered an unforgettable adventure. The combination of a high-quality boat, a stunning location, and the dynamic duo of Eric and Taylor made this tour a highlight of my trip. I highly recommend booking with Kilgore Adventures. Five stars for an epic day...
Read moreIf I could leave more than 5 stars, I most certainly would! This trip was an ABSOLUTE blast. Everything done here was literally an adventure. The lunch was delicious, the boat ride was scenic, seeing the history through the canyon truly was a glimpse of the old age. There was so much to see and of course, you will get wet - small tip, anticipate getting wet until the boat trip concludes (from experience). Captain Kurt and his team are all such great individuals, they are all so down to earth and willing to talk with you on the history and side stories that truly make the trip unique. But just in case you are not convinced, once the trip concluded and we said our goodbye's. The party that I was with were making our way back up the from the launch site in our shuttle bus. Not even 10 minutes into the ride back when we broke down (engine overheated/leaking fluids) Captain Kurt and his team gave us all (19 of us in total) a ride back up to their storefront. They held the store open past their regular hours so we could purchase some last minute drinks and snacks(while we awaited for the next bus to pick us up - which was well over 2 hours out). They also fed us, jalapeño poppers and hotdogs (which were delicious). They let us borrow their chairs so we all had a place to sit. Top that off with some friendly chats, really their hospitality was second to none. Captain Kurt and team, thank you for the awesome adventure but above all else the genuine help. It truly made our entire trip! You all made a recurring customer out of all of us here in Pasco. Thanks...
