We stayed two nights: and the staff were all very nice and helpful. The room and bathroom were very clean and actually quite large. *We came here for work though and chose the casino over staying in Martin, because we thought we would not be in such a desolate area and we would have solid wifi: both were terrible assumptions of mine. The casino is still quite isolated, but most things are if you are not in Rapid City. I was very happy to see so many people at the casino, it was overflow parking..I hear because of cash prize give aways. When I arrived I was interested in the cash prize give aways...but the front desk don't exactly know what is going on in the casino...I was told the cash prizes had been going on all day, but had moved on to a car drawing. ..but then later I hear that the cash prizes were likely still going when I arrived.. The hotel is separate from the casino so it is not their job to know what the casino is doing fyi. BUT it is connected to the casino, so very easy to get there to eat at the restaurant, yet the hotel is so quiet...so you can rest. Much to my shock and disappointment: the wifi did not work in our room, and we came there on business. I called the desk, and they said the instructions were on back of our hotel room key..which they were..but no luck getting even the name of the wifi to appear on the list. The next day, I asked, is it normal not to get wifi in that room, and she said, yes, on that side of the hotel yes. That is a huge deal and likely we will not go back just due to that. ...hopefully they can update that or you can just be sure to ask for wifi if ya need it...cuz maye you don't stay at casinos for work lol. And we had no way to watch tv just due to a small mishap:the remote woud not change channels..I am sure an easy fix, but having the staff member come back again, after they had just been there to set that remote up...seemed too much. I hope management can consider not allowing female staff or maybe any staff go into peoples room unless two staff go, seems super nice of them, but seems unsafe for staff. Breakfast was greasy spoon good..biscuits and gravy, bacon, very large...
Read moreThis casino has went downhill. We have been going for over 25 years and when they first built the newest casino and hotel it was great. We came up for crab legs last night and got a room. The crab was great but the rest of the buffet lacked options or deserts. The room was in sad condition compared to the premier of this hotel. There were tears in the carpet, the bedding was tattered and looked slept in because of its age. The pillows were the cheap ones, like you'd buy at Walmart for $2. They were flat and very uncomfortable. The pool was out of service and I was told that is the normal state of it. We were looking forward to playing Texas hold-em or 3 card. Neither of those were open. The casino was like a ghost town on a Friday night and it's no wonder because the maxhines were all dead. The reservation should have taken some of their profits, when this place was packed, and maintained their facilities. We sat for over an hour waiting for machines to be fixed. At one point we printed out a ticket and no machine would take it. I took it to the cashier were they told me it had already been redeemed. Common sense tells you if I have it in my hand it hasn't been redeemed, or the machine or the cashier would have it. It took 20 min for them to get a manager, then have a floor person go to the machine, pull the print logs and verify it was a legitimate ticket. That was only one of the many machine issues we had. I hope the casino can upgrade their hotel and casino and bring it back to its former glory when we all would win a couple times before giving...
Read moreThe hotel is AWESOME! I just wish they had the suites available.
The restaurant is definitely NOT included in my 5 star rating...they make a decent steak, but the availability of the items on the menu, & the bad, lazy, privileged attitude of some of the younger restaurant personnel makes it less than desirable (I should note, the restaurant employees I am specifically referring to are both very obviously spoiled, young, & female)
The restaurant/casino also can't seem to make their minds up about certain policies. Here's a suggestion...if PWC does NOT want MINORS walking through the casino...MOVE THE RESTAURANT TO THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING instead of keeping it in the back...or better yet...use the dome for the restaurant & offices, build a breezeway between the buildings (or otherwise connect them) to keep the restaurant separate from the casino & create space to add add more machines, or tables & use the current restaurant area for the bingo hall.
My only other suggested add on, would be a family recreation area & a designated pet park. PWC has one of the best pet friendly policies around, just need a designated, preferably fenced in, area where they can run & do their business with or without a leash.
To get more people to come to the casino, you basically need a resort atmosphere...the space is there, just need more activities to keep the $ flowing. Location wouldn't matter as much, if the Tribe considered PWC to be more of a destination.
No opinion on the casino, I'm...
