The reason I give them 2 stars is because they have the things I need, at very good prices. If you’re looking for good stuff at decent prices this place is good.
However the reason I deducted 3 stars is because of the staff and the constant mistakes they make. Make sure to double check your receipt and ensure you got charged the correct price. On 3 separate occasions have I been charged the wrong price from what’s labeled on the shelf.
Today it just went to a whole new level. I went to the cashier to ask for a price since I didn’t see one on the shelf. So I approached her and asked her if she can give me a price and without skipping a beat she straightaway tells me “without your card I can not give you the price” and that took me back a bit. I was like ok I do have the card but just ask politely and say “may I see your card?” I’d have happily given it to her. What was the reason for the rude tone and yelling?
Anyway I gave her the card barcode from my phone she gave me the price and I walked away. I ignored that and continued shopping.
Later I checked everything out and as I was walking towards my car I noticed that I got charged different price for paneer than what was on the shelf so I went back. The reception lady was on the phone with another customer so I waited. When I explained to her about the price discrepancy she tells me to go take a picture and come back to the front desk. At this point I was done and just wanted to get out so I went and took the picture and came back.
Then she tells me I have to go to the checkout line, take a full refund and then they will ring up again to get the correct price. So I went back to the checkout line and then starts a whole other issue.
I used my Apple Card using Apple Pay to pay. To refund, these people tell me they want the physical card. Apparently their system can accept payments via Apple Pay but it can not do a refund via Apple Pay. So I told them I do not have the physical card and then the lady goes very loudly I can not give you a refund without the physical card. At this point I lost my mind and I said just give me the refund I don’t want to buy this thing. So the guy next to her goes “don’t show us this attitude it’s not going to help.” I was thinking to myself what attitude did I show? Your whole system is a mess. All this was your management mistake and I am the one losing my time. I just kept my calm and said I have another card maybe do the refund on that card and the guy goes ok we can try. Thankfully that worked.
I then repurchased the item at the correct price, the guy gave me an extra $1 off but the way they speak to the customers it’s very despicable.
From now on I am going to take a picture of every item I buy and keep an eye on the screen as these rude employees scan it. As soon as they scan a wrong price I will stop the whole thing and show them the picture and not move from there until they charge the correct price. If it causes a line behind me so be it.
These employees really need a good lesson in hospitality and customer service. My God what a bunch of rude and arrogant employees they have. I see other customers have pointed out that employees are on their phone and talking on their AirPods while working and I have observed the same thing as well. Employees are on their phone and not paying attention to their job. I seriously hope corporate takes a closer look at this store. I will happily give all my information to corporate if they want to...
Read moreReview: On September 2, 2025, at approximately 5:55 PM, I visited the Restaurant Depot location at 135 Merritt Way, White Marsh, MD. I have been a long-time customer of Restaurant Depot (Jetro), and when I arrived, I noticed four other restaurant owners walking away as I approached. The door was already closed, and a young lady at the entrance stated the store was closed, refusing entry.
I respect closing times; however, this location’s approach feels much different compared to the Annapolis Road store, where I have shopped for years. At that location, even if I arrive just before 6:00 PM, the staff has always shown courtesy and understanding, allowing quick purchases before closing. That small flexibility means a lot to us as business owners, given our busy mornings restocking and preparing our restaurants.
If this is a new policy at the White Marsh location, I respectfully suggest: Posting Clear Signage: Indicating door closing times so customers can plan accordingly. Consistency Across Locations: Matching the level of customer service and flexibility shown at the Annapolis Road store would go a long way toward keeping business customers happy. Staff Training: A customer-focused approach, especially for those arriving before the official closing time, would make a big difference.
I hope this feedback helps improve the experience at the White Marsh location while recognizing the excellent service at Annapolis Road.
Thank you for your time and...
