Since my heart attack last year it seemed my taste had changed. Most things I loved just didn't taste good to me anymore.

What I didn't know is your meat comes from all over and different places. Specifically the store we used, I found out, comes from Mexico. So we said right there we are changing our store even if it costs more.

We have heard good things about this store and followed the rebuilding news after the flood. Today we finally came to visit. Mind you this store is an easy 30 minutes from our home two counties over.

First impressions: clean, super clean. Very organized. We wasn't there 5 minutes and an employee asked if we needed help. I asked a couple questions about cutting meat and he said he could get the manager and I told him that wasn't necessary.

Maybe 5 minutes later the manager Allen came to us and asked if we had questions. We asked him several questions about where the meat comes from, what and when they smoke meat. He answered everything promptly and even showed us the seasoning for the in-house sausage. He explained the digital coupon process. I was impressed.

We continued shopping and getting things to try out. 10 minutes later here comes Allen and he said "here try this for free" and handed us a tray of smoked ribs. I mean really who still does all this.

We found many deals. Found things we didn't know they made. Had a great supper smoked BBQ ribs and pork steaks with garlic potatoes and ice cream for dessert. We are highly impressed with the prices and the brands available. Also all of the employees are super super nice and answered all my questions with a smile and did a great job.

The new store is so clean and bright, full of people .... but quick checkout. Everyone so friendly and nice. I got fish and hush puppies at the deli and it was delicious. Prices on groceries are very reasonable. The store is immaculately clean.

So nice to have this locally owned store, I really appreciate that IGA does not have the dreaded "rewards card." I am tired of the confusing and misleading pricing at...
