While my wife and I were staying at The White House Inn in Wilmington, I was asking around about a place for Vermont Maple Syrup. Sprague & Sons was recommended however it was a November Sunday morning and no one knew for sure if it was going to be open. So the wife and I made the short drive and glad we did. The owner and his son were both there on that cold November Sunday morning. The owner opened his door to us and we had a great conversation. We left with plenty of large jugs of maple syrup to give to our family. Also bought some of the muffins however when we left, we didn’t get far before we devoured them! We also bought a container of the maple crunchies. Almost a month later, and we enjoy them with vanilla ice cream and Redi Whip! Not sure what we’ll do when we run out?? Maybe take another 14 hour trip to buy more!! :) We can’t wait to go back for more of everything. This place is definitely worth to stop at anytime of the year!

Sprague & Son Sugarhouse is a true gem in the heart of Vermont’s maple country. It's the perfect spot if you’re craving an authentic maple experience. They offer delightful tours and tastings, and you can even try their 'Sugar-on-Snow' if you time it right. Plus, the variety of maple treats—like their candy, maple-coated nuts, and spreads—is just fantastic. It’s definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area and want to take some Vermont sweetness back home!

Stopped in as they were boiling sap so my nephew could see how everything was done. What a great decision we made to stop in. They explained the entire process from start to finish and let us up close to see and smell the sap during various stages. The syrup samples were out of this world! If you want to visit and experience maple syrup being made, you need to stop here. Bring your friends and your kids! You won't find friendlier people anywhere!
