Friendly Hills Country Club — Local services in Whittier

I shopped this place for an engagement venue I was hosting and am APPALLED by the service i received at this country club , every venue visited would bend over backward to please me however this club coordinator CHRISTINE BOBADILLA had her nose in the air from the beginning. My initial appointment to view the facility was more like " here this is only room we have available for your date requested " and did not bother giving me a tour of the club, while i was viewing the hall she quickly interrupted me to leave as she had to go pick up her kids. Even when i disregarded her sour attitude and requested a taste testing her response was " i can only squeeze you in on thursday or friday " With all that aside i showed up to the taste tasting and Christine joined us towards the middle of the taste testing...... mind you at this point we already had prices figured out with a prior quote on hand & were ready with our cash deposit....... anyways she joined the taste testing and when i provided her with the time block i was looking to reserve the hall she immediately increased prices by $10 per plate..... as this came as an absolute shock to me, i told her this was never expressed to me that diff time blocks would provide an increase in price she so rudely responded " oh yes it was i have emails". As i was confident it wasnt i continued to tell her that she did not proved me with that information , as i was trying to gain clarity to the misunderstand she so RUDELY walked out of the taste testing printed emails and shoved them at me WHICH HAD NO RECORD OF HER PROVIDING TIME SLOTS. When i told her that the emails gave no indication of time her response was " id assume you know when lunch time was" ..... this was all typical given her attitude from the beginning. At the point my mind was made that i would not provide business to place that clearly doesnt value or respect clients, you would think operating in the industry that she does she would have an idea of how deal with customers but clearly she doesnt. They could not have paid me to host an event at this club. Do not bother with this club unless you do not mind poor, unhelpful and...

THANK YOU, FHCC!!! Last month we had our wedding and chose FHCC to be our venue, and we’re so glad we did! First of all, if you’ve ever been to this country club, you know how gorgeous the venue is. We looked at several venues and FHCC by far was the most stunning given our desired location. We had our reception take place on the second floor with a GREAT view of the golf course and 17 foot high ceilings where we were able to hang drapes and twinkle lights from. From the very beginning the events team had been accommodating, especially given our short wedding timeline of 3 months! Brittany was our point of contact and at every turn she was kind, calm, and professional. You can really tell she loves what she does and has been doing it for a long time. There were no surprises and everything was explained to us clearly, streamlining the process. Even when we made last minute changes, she made every effort to accommodate. And when she couldn't, she tried to find the next best solution for us. (Country Clubs have reputations for being overly strict with rules/policies, so we were surprised when Brittany came up with alternative solutions that worked out well!) Everyone loved the food, and the service team was on point. The only thing that was a bit unfortunate was that we were unable to extend the time of our reception. There was a car show that created a LOT of traffic near the venue on our wedding day, causing us and all of the guests to be late by over an hour. We had to rush through our program and cut out certain parts we had planned just so we could finish on time. However, this wasn’t a deal breaker on how much we enjoyed our day, but something we wished could’ve been worked out... but we understand!!

Either way, we would recommend this venue to anyone thinking of hosting their reception with a team of professionals (thank you, Brittany) and a beautiful location around...

I have nothing negative at all to say about Friendly Hills Country Club. My experience has been amazing even from reaching out to inquire. TAYLOR is awesome! So sweet, kind, and helpful! I had a vision of how I was going to combine 2 birthdays into one and Taylor was very accommodating answering my million questions.

The price was reasonable and the food was spectacular! Everyone kept saying how good the chicken and veggies were. Not your typical bland chicken wedding food. So delicious!

I removed the dance floor to accommodate the children's playground and it worked perfect! I was able to use the restaurant chairs (since they look nicer than the regular chairs that are provided). They worked around my late guest (fed them even when so many were late). The staff is very nice as well! Every time I stopped by they were really nice (guy who sets up the rooms for events, waitresses, set up manager) they even offered to charge my computer in his office so that it would be fully charged and ready for when I wanted to play a slideshow on the projector.

I would DEFINITELY recommend having an event here. The views are spectacular (even just driving up), the staff is EXTREMELY friendly, the food is amazing. I do not have one bad thing to say💙
