Played here twice, just not worth the hassle for me. I golf 2-3 times per week, and I live right down the street from this course. I wish things were different. First round was sometime last year - guy charged me $55. For a 9 hole course. Off 63rd and hydraulic. Really I was charged for a full cart instead of half, but then my buddy who came after I checked in was charged the correct amount. It’s not a busy course, sure mistakes happen, but I’m not gonna raise a stink over $15 or whatever. But these guys watch you like hawks (see later), so I’ll take the high road and chalk that one up to negligence. To keep it a legit review - I probably did make some remark in the clubhouse about being bent over when he told me the round was $55. The guy was like 6’8 (I’m 6’6 and this guy was taller than me) and I guess didn’t appreciate the ‘back talk’. Fine. He then took the opportunity to hunt my group down taking a cart from the clubhouse to confront me for ‘driving the cart into the tee box’ on hole 8. You know those muddy areas off the cart path? I had one cart tire in the mud. There was no grass.
The course itself is fine, but if you play any of the four Wichita public courses, it’s just poor value and I left realizing that would be my last time playing here.
After about a year I played my second round at pine bay very recently. I was a last second invite and decided to give it another go. I go in to pay, and it was $26? Cool. Sweet. The cart was in great shape. The course was a little janky, I think 3 greens had unplayable areas, but overall it was fine enough. We go back to the first tee to start our back 9, BOOM. HEADSHOT. Sniped by the clubhouse attendant saying we only paid for 9. Ok cool, I figured that 26 was too good to be true, but that’s what the guy rang us up as. So I go inside to pay another 15 for a grand total of 41 and change, while listening to his spiel of how this is the best value course in the area. I might’ve been born at night, but not last night.
I’ll stick to the Wichita 4 or if I’m in that area, hidden lakes is a no-brainer. This course should be $25 to play 18 and there might...
Read moreBeen going here for awhile, and spending my money there for some time. Tried to get a tee time for myself, just me. They said no because they save those tee times for three or four n a group. I said seems like you don’t like money. All I got was call tomorrow and talk to my boss. The course is really not that great and there is a bunch of slow play going on, kinda where the beginners go to practice. Spend your money somewhere else because pine bay is making too much money to worry about single players. Kinda seems dumb to me, a single player won’t bother anyone quick and won’t hold your groups up. You could probably just let me in between two groups, or match me up with a group of three. Instead they...
Read moreClerk at the desk in the clubhouse was extremely friendly. Thats the only good thing I have to say about this place.
Everything up to the approach was bone dry, couldn't even make a divot in the fairways with my wedges. Every iron shot I took shocked my wrist and shoulder.
Sprinklers were going off on the greens at 3:30pm, looked like they played slow from all the water they had but again, being completely bone dry, greens were extremely fast and un-predictable to read.
This course is everything but "premium" for a 9 hole. Save your money and go to a municipal course where yardage reads are accurate and fairways are...
