Im new to town, just moved here for a job. I came here on Thursday to buy treats for the guys at work and my neighbors around 7:30pm because the grocery store here closes at 7 here in Wilber I guess. Anyways I took a while because i wasnt sure what everyone would like so I got a lot of treats, close to $55 worth of gourmet chocolates and stuff (russel stovers are $12 a piece). So as Im putting my stuff in bags at the self checkout. The gal working walks up to me, stops and points at my stuff and says "did you pay for that?". Well I said absolutely because obviously I did, I mean theres cameras there, my reciept, and the heads up displays all items and how much theyre worth. So she apparently felt like she had to walk up and verify that I rang everything up. I was completely cooperative and I even tried to be courteous despite the special attention. But I did feel guilty, it was embarrassing. Considering that I watched at least 4 other people check out while I was there, and none of them got the walmart treatment like I did. I dont know if its because I look like a bean, which i understand because i very well am very Mexican. Or because Im a new face, but it sure would be nice to feel welcome somewhere new. This definitely isnt that place from my personal experience. I hope I can get "normal" treatment here if i have to stop by out of sheer necessity. Ill try for the grocery store always from now on. The reason I decided to write this review is because I was sitting here in the parking lot, waiting for my pale white, bright blue eyed, polish spouse to come out. Im watching through the big glass sliding doors and i cant help but notice that the workers didnt even bat an eye at any of the customers there checking out, not a single one. I havent seen another brown person here yet, but Im wondering if brownies like myself shop somewhere else and shes not use to it, or if shes had bad experiences with brown people stealing or such. Heck maybe she thought that I dont even speak English, but I definitely do. im pretty well assimilated by now. Im definitely praying about it either way. Brownies beware, just be ready to practice extra patience and flex those understanding muscles, no need to make a scene. Best wishes

I really like the variety this store has. I can usually find what I need. I like the choices in the cold case. I have been there all hours. Everyone helpful and friendly. I have worked retail for 24 yrs, so understand being on both sides of the counter. I think employees at this store deserve...

WOW!! If I could give negative stars I would! The manager working there last night needs a SERIOUS ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT! Treat people with some respect and not talk to them like they are beneath you! If the job is difficult, maybe it's time to move on already and let someone take over who...
