Window Design & Remodeling — Local services in Willard

Our old deck was in dire need of replacement and was continuing to get worse as time progressed. We called multiple companies for bids for our project as we knew we wanted something that was going to be sturdy, functional and would last for many years. We chose Window Design & Remodeling and are extremely happy we did.

Mike arrived for our consultation and was the only one who made me feel like he was really listening to what we were wanting and was willing to help us make that happen. Mike put together a bid quickly for us and was willing to tweak it as needed before any contract was signed. Signing the contract for and scheduling the project was seemless. Mike kept us updated on the progress and made sure everything was ready when the project was ready to start.

J.R. and his crew arrived when scheduled and were ready to start the minute they arrived. Everything seemed very well orchestrated and the project moved quickly and smoothly even though we had weather issues and delays. J.R. and his crew were willing to answer questions and were not bothered by my checking on them and the progress. Our project was completed on time even with the weather delays and issues.

We would not recommend this company to anyone. We had a flooded finished basement that needed a complete restoration of flooring, wallboard and new vanities and cabinets in the 2 bathrooms. It was a project of about 1200 square feet. We did not seek other bids so we accepted their estimate even with the time frame of getting to our project of 16 weeks. Realizing that was just an estimate time, we went ahead and took the leap and signed the contract. Sixteen weeks passed with only the flooring subcontractors flooring installed. And, they had to return because they did not have all the flooring we ordered 3 months earlier. The day after the flooring contractor left one bathroom had water all over the floor. They had not reattached the toilets properly. Finally after 22 weeks Window Design and Remodel crew showed up after telling us twice that we were scheduled earlier. This company's communication within their company and with their customers is terrible. It sounded great up front then went downhill from there. This company seems to be more inclined to cater to the new home additions, new decks and sunrooms than to getting a damaged home restored. When the job was completed they hadn't even installed the quarter round in 3 of the rooms as per the contract. We received a credit for the work not done, but this just points out they don't even follow their own work...

Following this comment is our original comment when we had a new deck installed about two years ago. We considered including underdecking at the time but decided against it. Well, we regretted that! So we visited with Mike Watkins at the open house for Window Design's new showroom and were able to get the project started. Because it wasn't completed at the time the deck was built it was a more challenging project, but the crew completed it and we are very happy with it. Everyone we dealt with was personable and professional, and we have always been pleased with the quality of work by Window Design and Remodeling. We would definitely recommend them to friends and family!
