OK-here goes. This is the 2nd time that I have been to the restaurant in the past two months. The first time, I went for a few drinks at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly, BUT! They gave the house away! The bartender knew one of her customers and he drank most of the night without her ringing up one thing. I won a free 6-pack on the "Shake a Day", and she gave me 9 beers plus wrote me out a voucher for two more because she thought she only gave me 4. The cook came out of the kitchen and proceeded to make a tray full of shots to bring to her kitchen staff. I've worked as a bartender for over 20 years, and I've never seen that before. I understand the owner fired the entire staff shortly thereafter, so good for him. He had to be losing money with a staff that would act like that. Last night, I went with two others for dinner. Holly, our server/bartender did the very best that she could, considering her relief called in sick then proceeded to show up at the restaurant to drink with her friend on the patio! Poor Holly was the only person on the floor and behind the bar trying to serve all of the diners and the people at her bar. Why can't they find decent help here? Is the owner just hiring warm bodies and not anyone with experience? I ordered the chicken fried steak and got chicken fried chicken. Seriously! And it was served in a pasta bowl! It tasted great-I'll give them that, but seriously? What is going on here? To the owner-being a good doctor does not make one a good businessman. Find a qualified G. M....
Read moreStuck between a 2 and 3 star review. There is certainly a good to great golf course under all the bad out at Eagle Ridge.
The price of 18 holes and a cart is highway robbery for the condition of the course and the amenities surrounding it. Many of the fairways were so long that it was similar to hitting out of first cut or even short cut rough. There were also a number of fairways featuring large bare patches or over irrigated swamps.
Conversely, the greens were in great conditions and are the gem of the course. Many challenging and tricky greens. This were well maintained and really increased my view of the course.
The layout of the course is a bit repetitive. So many of the tee shots are some variation of a forced carry and a deceptive landing area. The architect also seemed to love the idea of almost every approach shot being uphill.
Finally what really turned me off was that on a Friday afternoon the superintendent decided that turning on the sprinklers was appropriate. I am not talking about 5 6 or 7 pm. They turned on the sprinklers for the first 4 holes at 2:30 in...
Read moreThis is one of the most disappointing golf clubs I have ever had the displeasure of attending. Their grounds are always a mess, so it makes it extremely tough to even golf. But the one thing that has made me stop attending the golf course for the foreseeable future, is the fact they exploit one of their employees and take advantage of them. The employee is unpaid, and forced to work in conditions that are harmful for them. It’s extremely upsetting to see the owner partakes in these actions, and this employee is always joyful, lovely to be around, and works hard, and the owner takes advantage of the fact the employee wants to work hard and please others. But not paying them? And forcing them to do work that they aren’t even a legitimate employee for the golf course? That’s outrageous and disgusting. I hope people will stop attending this golf course and giving their money to a business that does this type of thing with...
